A message from Sal Russo:

The Pro-Troop Community Has a Great Friend and Supporter
Rush Limbaugh

Rush Limbaugh has been a fantastic leader for conservative causes, and especially for supporting our troops and their mission to defeat radical Islamic terrorists in Iraq, Afghanistan and across the globe.  Move America Forward is proud to stand with Rush, who has become the favorite target of America’s leftists and, unfortunately, even some who should know better.

Rush has done more – and continues to do more – to support our troops than you’ll ever fully know or realize.  I wish I could share more specific details with you about how wonderful he has been, but he very modestly likes to keep his kindnesses and generosity out of the news.  He supports this cause because he believes in it and not to garner praise or accolades.

Rush has been a huge supporter of our sending care packages to the troops.  We allow each of you to write your own personal message to the troops to express our support for these heroic men and women.

I became a casual acquaintance of his when he came to Sacramento, California, in 1984 to work at our local news/talk radio station.  Having been serving as the Deputy Chief of Staff to California Governor George Deukmejian, I had taken a leave of absence to set up the re-election campaign for President Ronald Reagan in California.  Driving around town became dangerous.  Rush was simply hilarious in poking fun at the liberal establishment.  I was a hazard on the road as I tried to drive while laughing uproariously.

While his early days in Sacramento on the radio were more fun than serious, things changed when he began his national show in 1988.  From harpooning liberals on a daily basis, Rush emerged to be a thoughtful conservative voice – articulating the ideas and feelings of the vast majority of Americans.  There is a reason that he is No.1.  Yes, he still has his fun and his sense of humor is still as sharp as ever, but he also is a voice for many of us on a wide range of issues.

One issue is particularly dear to Rush’s heart, and that is support for our military men and women.  He has stood there consistently, and Move America Forward has had no better friend in the fight to support our troops.  This year, like last year, Rush has agreed to appear at our Troopathon so we can realize our goal to deliver a record number of care packages to our troops.

We send the troops what they ask for. So they get Oreo cookies, Gatorade, beef jerky, premium coffee, lip balm, deodorant and more.  My favorite item is the Jelly Bellys made famous by Ronald Reagan.  The Jelly Belly Candy Company has produced for us more than 100,000 bags of special uniquely packaged jelly beans to send to our troops for their own enjoyment as well as for gifts to make friends with the Iraqi people.

In addition to sponsoring a care package, I hope you will turn into our webcast and watch Rush Limbaugh again on June 25th.  We have so many wonderful guests, talk show hosts like Mark Levin, bloggers like Michele Malkin, Hollywood celebrities like Kelsey Grammer.  Not only will you enjoy seeing and hearing from patriotic Americans, our troops will know that America cares. They may not be on the front pages, but they are not forgotten.

Sincerely,

Sal Russo
Chief Strategist

The hosts:
Meet your hosts—Melanie Morgan and Andrew Breitbart! Also, check back to read about the exciting guests participating in "Honor Their Service."

A veteran journalist, Melanie Morgan has been in TV and Radio since 1983 when she began her career covering the bombing of the Marine Barracks in Beirut. For 15 years she co-hosted a highly rated radio show on San Francisco’s KSFO 560 with Lee Rogers until 2008, when cost cutting forced Citadel Broadcasting not to renew her contract. In Morgan won the Associated Press Mark Twain award for her work on MAF’s “Voices of the Soldiers” which sent a dozen talk radio show hosts to Iraq to do satellite interviews with real troops. She co-authored the best-selling book “American Mourning” with Catherine Moy in 2006 and has visited Iraq several times and has visited Guantanamo Bay with Move America Forward.

Andrew Breitbart is a deeply connected commentator who works on a number of news programs and blogs including his own project “Big Hollywood” which documents the ultra liberal biases of Hollywood leftists and shines a spotlight on good Hollywood stars that support the troops. He also has his own news site Breitbart.Com and Breithbart.TV and is a frequent commentator on TV and radio news shows.  He has even guest hosted Michael Savage’s savage nation, and routinely fills in for Dennis Miller. Andrew is one of the nation’s leading commentators on society and culture and has been published in the Wall Street Journal, National Review, Weekly Standard, Washington Times, and many others.

PRESIDENT GEORGE H. W. BUSH AND
PRESIDENT GEORGE W. AND LAURA BUSH SUPPORT PRO-TROOP TELETHON

Both Bush Presidents Urge Support
for Care Packages for our Troops

We our honored that both President George H. W. Bush and President George W. Bush have joined the Move America
Forward effort to provide a record number of care packages for our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.  They join a growing list of participants as MAF is putting the finishing touches on our lineup for the fast approaching “Honor Their Service” troopathon.

Last year MAF shipped a record breaking 12,000 care packages to the troops and to break that record just one year later, MAF needs a historic effort from our supporters and from the American people. With the support of our 41st and 43rd presidents, our effort is obviously catching the attention of some power players!

But no matter what celebrities and diplomats we get support from, it’s up to you to help us reach our goal. We still have much work to before our June 25th deadline and we need to get as many care package orders as we can this week!  Please join with the presidents and sponsor a care package for the troops.

President George H.W. Bush and President George W. Bush were steadfast in support for our troops. President H.W. led our troops into the first Gulf War to intervene when Saddam Hussein invaded the weaker Kuwait to seize their rich oil fields. Our heroic men and women liberated the country of Kuwait and drove Saddam’s forces back to Baghdad after 100 days of bombing and a brilliant 3 day land campaign.

First Gulf War - President George H.W. Bush Greets Troops

George W. Bush was our president on September 11, 2001 when terrorists attacked the World Trade Center and murdered 3,000 innocent Americans. President Bush vowed never to let terrorists attack Amer
ica again. He led the nation through the most difficult times, through wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, and thanks to his policies and leadership, and the professionalism and skill of our brave troops, no terrorists have been able to carry out a successful attack on U.S. soil in the 7 years since 9/11.

President George W. Bush Greeted by Troops at Al Asad Air Base in Iraq

Bush 41 and 43 were both war time presidents.  They had to send our military men and women into battle, and they carried the weight of that decision with them. They both loved our military and the sacrifices our troops make. Here is an excerpt from a letter written by President George W. Bush to Move America Forward, expressing his support for our troops.

“I appreciate all those who support our military and their families, and I am grateful to the staff of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library for hosting this important event.  Your efforts pay tribute to the enduring accomplishments of these American heroes and help us honor their service.”

More guests!

PRO-TROOP GUESTLIST EXPANDS WITH ELISABETH HASSELBECK AND KYLIE WILLIAMS

Only 6 Days Left to Break the Record of Most Care Packages for Our Troops in Iraq and Afghanistan

We are extremely excited to announce that both Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Kylie Williams will be participating in Move America Forward’s annual Troopathon “Honor Their Service.” Elisabeth Hasselbeck is the single conservative voice on the immensely popular show “The View,” while beauty queen Kylie Williams was not only winner of the Miss Florida 2007 pageant, but also created her own charity called “Realistic Support for Our Troops.”

Both ladies will appear on our June 25th
webcast, which will stream LIVE from the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California, starting at 1 pm Pacific/4 pm Eastern!

MAF is bringing together celebrities, movie stars, talk radio hosts, political commentators and others like Kelsey Grammer, Jon Voight, Gary Sinise, Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, Sean Hannity and the rest of the guests on our impressive lineup to support our troops.

Regardless of who appears on the Tro
opathon, the end goal is to show our troops some REAL SUPPORT with tons of care packages filled with coffee, cookies, beef jerky and other goodies. Please show YOUR support for our troops!

Elisabeth Hasselbeck: A Pro-Troop
Supporter with Real Grit

Elisabeth Hasselbeck is a force to be reckoned with on “The View.” If there is one thing Elisabeth Hasselbeck is MOST famous for, it’s having the staying power to spend hours on the set of “The View” taking constant ridicule from the rest of the cast who outnumber her 4 to 1 and attack her for her conservative views on a daily basis. She has an enormous amount of courage to stand up to constant attacks

According to Matthew Felling, editor of Public Eye, Elisabeth Hasselbeck represents “an audience that the left just can’t crack: traditional, God-fearing red state women, well-intended, who have made up their mi
nds and won’t be easily persuaded.”

Kylie Williams: Fighting For
Those Who Fight For Us!

Kylie Williams, beauty queen and pro-troop activist, is yet another exciting addition to our already amazing lineup! In 2007, the Florida Department of Veteran Affairs named Williams “Official Ambassador for Veteran’s Advocacy,” which allows her to travel all over the state of Florida fighting for veterans rights, educating veterans on how to gain access to their benefits as well as visiting veterans in hospitals and homes.

During the 2007 Christmas holiday, Kylie Williams visited the troops at Guantanamo Bay with Move America Forward’s Debbie Lee and Melanie Morgan, pictured below with some of our troops.

We are overjoyed to have the support of such outspoken, strong women join our already amazing lineup! Won’t you add your support today?

Ann Coulter Joins Care Package Push

Conservative and Hollywood Stars Lining Up for 2009 Troopathon

Today we’re thrilled to announce that conservative author, columnist and media pundit Ann Coulter has signed on again this year to participate in our landmark webcast to raise funds for care packages for our troops.  With Ann, you can always count on her pinpoint aim to skewer those who defame our troops and their mission in Iraq and Afghanistan.

With the telethon 5 days away, all of the big names in the conservative media have been signing on to our historic effort to send the largest shipment of care packages to US troops in history.

Not only have stalwarts like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Mark Levin joined in, but we have had the enthusiastic support from the conservative entrainment community as well, with such big stars as Jon Voight, Gary Sinise and Kelsey Grammer taking part.

The large and growing all-star list of participants is staggering. These celebrities and patriotic leaders have told us how dedicated they are to helping our brave troops and how excited they are to be joining this project.  To beat our record care package shipment from last year, We need you to sign up today

The packages we send are stuffed with great items the troops have requested, from Oreo cookies and Gatorade to lip balm and bug repellant, and that our troops really appreciate. Every box is packed with love by our dedicated volunteers who make sure every one gets the care and attention befitting our United States Military men and women.

Best of all, each package comes with a personal message of support from you.  Please put your message in the comments section of the online order form, and we’ll print it on a card that’s the last thing we put in the box and the first thing a soldier, sailor, airman, marine, or coastie will see at mail call.

It means SO much to our guys and gals spending long and difficult deployments half a world away from friends of family when they receive your packages. Please make that gesture today and let’s show our troops that our support for them is unwavering.

THANKS ANN COULTER FOR HELPING!
