Gun toters point to eased regulations as fix for recent violence

With two area murders in the past two weeks, two officers shot, and a popular candy store owner killed in Milwaukee -- all by gunfire -- it might seem to be an odd time to try to get more guns on the street. But gun advocates say this is the perfect time to build momentum for a movement that is already gaining traction.

"That's just all the more reason why the good guys ought to be able to carry their guns," says Mark Stollenwerk, co-founder of OpenCarry.org, a Virginia-based pro-gun website that has targeted Wisconsin for a media and lobbying campaign to loosen restrictions on guns.

Stollenwerk says of the 44 states that allow citizens to openly carry firearms, Wisconsin has the most obstacles in place to infringe on that right -- in particular, a 1,000-foot ban around schools and a prohibition against driving with a firearm within reach.

Way back in the day, Kelly Liquors in Albuquerque authorized (pretty much required) its employees to openly carry sidearms at work.

Kelly never got robbed, and I think the one time some idiot was actually stupid enough to try to rob a customer in their parking lot, the moron was treated to a very unpleasant surprise by several employees.

Somehow article author Steven Elbow fails to mention that the shootings he provides as evidence that more guns on the street is insane, were all carried out by criminals! The law abiding who demand their right to keep and bear arms are not the problem—in Wisconsin or anywhere else. Imagine a lib reporter ignoring that fact. Hard to believe, huh?

I’m seeing a similarity between the phenomenon of homelessness and media-described “gun violence.”

Whenever a Republican administration begins, the next day homelessness is at an all time high; during the democrat years, there was no reported homelessness whatsoever.

Similarly, now that a democrat-marxist administration is again in power, gun violence is daily screaming at us from the front pages, while there was very little of it during the previous eight years.

Conclusion? Apparently, there is something about a democrat regime that engenders hatred to the point of violence. If the liberals were consistent, they’d be wringing their hands, wondering why it is that we hate them so much, as they did after 9/11. Of course, they only need ask us; we’d be happy to tell them why.
