Ironically, feminism is still very much alive (and now making serious inroads into conservative thought) due to the rise of Palin, whose career promotes the myth that a woman can "have it all"

I've even seen many posters on this forum arguing that liberal women hate Palin because "she has it all" and they don't.

And when conservatives are making those kinds of arguments, feminism is hardly breathing its last.

“...due to the rise of Palin, whose career promotes the myth that a woman can ‘have it all’”.

I agree. We seem quite content to use Palin as our heroine, her family be damned. I have no doubt she loves her husband and her children, but no woman can have it all without the bow breaking somewhere. Facts of life.

The Reagans had two rebels, did they not? Great men inspire us, great marriages inspire us, but they often crush their children, unwittingly.
