And Republicans are supposed to be "mean spirited"? Maybe the little woman thought she deserved an exemption from having to display common courtesy because she's a girl.

There are two things going on here.

First, she believes it’s her divine right to be a Senator and that we the people are the servants.

Secondly, this is a woman who I don’t doubt spit on the uniform in her youth

“How in the world did such a despicable person ever occupy a Senate chair?”..

.....simple...she’s from San Francisco....and I expect she’ll be re-elected forever.

she’s a liberal who is recognized for her anti-military stance

She was just playing to her base. The people who support her loved the exchange.

A despicable person to be sure. But no less despicable are the types who voted for her. And many have voted for her 3 times.

Funny how the Senator can be offended at what was meant as courtesy— a title used with only the best intentions. Yet Sarah Palin is being unreasonable for being offended by David Letterman. Our military can be criticized for something said with honorable intentions, while David Letterman is entitled to cover for something said with malice. Just goes to show the liberals are more familiar with low class “humor” than with the etiquette of the US military. Why am I not surprised?

The democrat side of the isle is chock full of despicable people. They call themselves liberals, and they are the real haters amongst us.

Another bitchy power struggle over inane remarks like this demonstrates how idiots are in charge. In DC it’s all about POWER. Who demands it? Who demonstrates it? CA bitches like PeLIESi, Boxer & Feinstein, all RATS & all demonstrate it, are prime examples that need to be taken down some notches.

I’m sure the General was thinking Alpha Hotel or Sierra Hotel, after her request. Hey, she’s a typical Brooklyn radical Lib, I would expect no less from her. Papa probably brought the “Daily Worker” home with him instead of leaving it on a seat on the IRT or BMT.

What surprised me was not so much Barbara Boxer’s request to be addressed as Senator. It was her answering her own request, saying “Yes,” “Thank you” before the general had a chance to reply.

I think she may be on medication of some kind.

Ma'am said by a military person is showing respect for the person they are addressing... I am sure Boxer is aware that being called a senator, is not really showing respect to any one willing to whore their life out like most congress ppl do, last I checked congress had a 9% approval rating.. The military has about a 99.9 %

“When addressed by male Senators, Gen. Walsh correctly and politely replied with “Sir.” He was merely trying to exhibit the same standards to a female.”

She doesn’t want the ‘same standards’. The logical conclusion is that Sen. Boxer thinks a woman is less than a man. To be elevated to the same level as a ‘sir’, she needs to be called ‘senator’ which does not reveal her gender.

The standard liberal Democrat arrogance ("we're the really smart people"), combined with the knowledge that she has a lifetime job (a lefty Democrat from San Francisco, California isn't about to lose her senate seat in this lifetime) and the left's hatred of not only America but, especially, our military, gave us that little scene in which a haughty woman politician instructs a middle-age Army General - after he has addressed her as 'Ma'am' - to call her 'Senator'. In that televised exchange, Barbara Boxer looked like the arrogant political hack she is. She richly deserves the scorn she's received for her arrogance.

When will people wake up and see these leftist posers for what they really are? Well, maybe SENATOR Boxer has done her part to rip the mask off and show America the nasty little people underneath, masquerading as serious statesmen and thoughtful, oh-so- compassionate 'public servants'. Don't hold your breath. Obama still has decent approval numbers, so I think the American people have morphed into the good little peons the Marxists in Washington expected them to be. After all, Obama is 'historic' and gee, he sounds so good, too.

Spare me.

Sometimes only one word can be used to describe a woman like her.

She is quite frankly a Bit*h.

But why does she continue to demean women by suggesting that a female Senator is less than a male Senator?

Boxer is a pompous, self-important airhead, typical of the sort the state of California seems to prefer. Definitely a strong contender for the least impressive and most ridiculous member of Congress.
