Companies usually decommission and scrap ships every year. Earlier this year, they would explain their decision as slightly increasing the rate of scrapping ships that would normally have been retired anyway. Evergreen completely lays the decision to dump these ships on the continuing slump this time.

Not good news, but maybe Obama can buy some and run them aground at NOLA for housing.

I used to deliver yachts. I have met many Evergreen ships offshore. Without question the crews are some of the most polite and helpful I have ever encountered!
