Fiscal Policy: The House of Representatives is preparing to vote on an anti-stimulus package that in the name of saving the earth will destroy the American economy. Smoot-Hawley will seem like a speed bump.Not since a misguided piece of legislation imposed tariffs that turned a recession into a depression has there been a piece of legislation as bad as Waxman-Markey.The 1,000-plus-page American Clean Energy and Security Act (H.R. 2454) is being rushed to a vote by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi before anyone can seriously object to this economic suicide pact.

I realize this is off topic (sorta), but I got this in my inbox a few minutes ago and just wanted to share....

The other day I went out to lunch with some friends. As we were sitting around the table the state of the economy came up and the things that our Government was doing to "help" out. One of the fellows sitting around the table came up with the following analogy, and I thought it pretty much hit the nail on the head.
It is a slow day in the East Texas town of Madisonville. It is raining, and the little town looks totally deserted. Times are tough, everybody is in debt and everybody lives on credit. On this particular day a rich tourist from the East is driving through town. He enters the only hotel in the sleepy town and lays a hundred dollar bill on the desk stating he wants to inspect the rooms upstairs in order to pick one to spend the night. As soon as the man walks up the stairs, the hotel proprietor takes the hundred dollar bill and runs next door to pay his debt to the butcher.
The butcher takes the $100 and runs down the street to pay his debt to the pig farmer. The pig farmer then takes the $100 and heads off to pay his debt to the supplier of feed and fuel. The guy at the Farmer's Co-op takes the $100 and runs to pay his debt to the local prostitute, who has also been facing hard times and has lately had to offer her "services" on credit. The hooker runs to the hotel and pays off her debt with the $100 to the hotel proprietor, paying for the rooms that she had rented when she brought clients to that establishment.
The hotel proprietor then lays the $100 bill back on the counter so the rich traveler will not suspect anything. At that moment the traveler from the East walks back down the stairs, after inspecting the rooms. He picks up the $100 bill and states that the rooms are not satisfactory...... Pockets the money and walks out the door and leaves town.
No one earned anything. However the whole town is now out of debt, and looks to the future with a lot of optimism. That, ladies and gentlemen, is how the United States Government is conducting business today.. If that doesn't scare the hell out of you, then I don't know what will.

It’s one thing to gripe and complain about these things and disagree with it, but it’s quite *another* to convince your friends and neighbors and relatives and coworkers...

THEREFORE..., it’s also absolutely necessary for people to know the information in the following documentary. If there were simply *one* video that you could see and/or show people you know... this would be the *one*...

Getting ready to leave for the weekend. Heading to beautiful WV to attend a wedding in my Wife’s family.

My Father in law and brother in law are coal miners and rabid democrats. They spout lefty union talking points every time we get together which the last time was before last Novembers elections. It will be intersting to see what their “thoughts” are on this Cap and Trade fiasco. Which is to “move away from fossil fuels (IE:coal) and embrace clean energy.” Ooops!

Intersted in hearing how their union is selling this to them. Here is a test to see if they can really think for themselves.

I called on my fellow conservatives to email their reps to vote no on the bill. I then asked my fellow employees to send emails. One of them said, “why should I care?” I told him that it will cause an increase in his electricity bill. He said, I will believe it when I see it.

A light went off in my head. I now realize that my fellow Americans have the mentality of sub humans.

The bill, HR 2454, passed 219 to 212. It now goes on to the Senate.

This monstrosity is going down the tracks full steam ahead.

We have one last chance to stop it.
