This is tragic. However, I have a question I’d like answered. Would John be willing to pay the price for each of these articles if they bore the costs of multiple unions, confiscatory taxes levied by local, state and federal governments, environmental regulations, insurance costs to protect liability lawsuits, government mandated business costs, and the constant harassment by everyone not listed above. In fact, could he afford those costs?

Perhaps he might-IF he had decent employment,good unions,and a reasonable measure of regulation.

When John is relegated to a “You want fries with that ?” job,the overall economy suffers.

Absolutely, as long as the gov't didn't allow the mega-manufacturers, banks and other businesses to violate the anti-trust laws as they now do...

It's called competition...The one who sells the cheapest sells the most...
