Colin Powell 'concerned' Obama's agenda may be too ambitious, too costly

ormer Secretary of State Colin Powell says President Obama's agenda may be too ambitious, and costly.

"One of the challenges that President Obama has now is that he's got so many things on the table, and these are issues that the American people find important, health care and so many other issues," said Powell in an interview slated to air Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union with John King."

"But I think one of the cautions that has to be given to the president -- and I've talked to some of his people about this -- is that you can't have so many things on the table that you can't absorb it all. And we can't pay for it all," Powell said.

Powell - who broke ranks with the Republican Party to endorse Democrat Obama in last year's election - said he's particularly concerned about the behemoth national debt burden being placed on the country's children and grandchildren.

"So, I think the president, as he moves forward with his initiatives has to start really taking a very, very hard look at what the cost of all this is," he said.

"And, how much additional bureaucracy and will it be effective bureaucracy be needed to make all of this happen?"

Powell hesitated to say he was "worried" about Obama's busy agenda, but he conceded he's "concerned."

"I'm concerned at the number of programs that are being presented, the bills associated with these programs and the additional government that will be needed to execute them," he said.

Asked if he talks with Obama much, Powell replied, "I have met with him not too long ago."

"I don't insert myself," Powell said. "But, we stay in touch."

He said his relationship with the White House is "very good."

On the death of King of Pop Michael Jackson, Powell said the internationally known entertainer is "worthy of all the tribute that he is receiving for his art."

"Yes, there were some challenges in his life. Yes, there was a great deal of controversy about him," Powell said.

"But he's now passed on. Let's celebrate his art."

Well, we don’t really want him to shut up or should not anyway. ..he may be late coming to the Party; but at least he is heading in the right direction; and we need all the help we can get.

Do wonder what Powell things about Obama’s stand on Honduras. . .maybe that will prod him as well. . .

Who cares what Colon Bowel thinks? Could this clown be any more obvious about whoring himself for a job in Zero’s administration? What’s wrong, Colon, are the mortgage payments on your new mansion hard to pay on retired 4-star general pay? I wouldn’t give this egghead a job in the mail room. Apparently Zero won’t either because Colon has been doing this since election day.

The Great Chicago Fire was a conflagration that burned from Sunday, October 8, to early Tuesday, October 10, 1871, killing hundreds and destroying about four square miles in Chicago, Illinois.

Powell would tell Chicago he smelled smoke on October 11th!

Now Powell is concerned? Wouldn’t it have been a little more intelligent to be concerned before he backed this Marxist? Oh, that’s right. Obama’s credentials didn’t matter because he was the correct skin color.

Isn't he a little late with these revelations.

He endorsed BHO knowing what BHO had planned. BHO told us in bits and dabs of what he planned on doing when he became president. He said during his campaign that he was for Cap and Trade, for destroying the coal industry, for destroying enterprise so we could all be 'equal'.

Powell voted for Obama, he may still be a registered Republican, that only means he is a 'Republican in Name Only'.

The country can now thank Powell and the rest of the Obama voters for putting Obama the Socialist/Liberal/Progressive/Marxist/Fascist into office and the almost total destruction of our economy.

Obama and his minions can no longer blame this mess on Geo W Bush!

SARAH’S HIGHER CALLING, POWELL AND STEELE NEED TO STFU:
Sarah Palin would do more for the nation - in my opinion – by taking over the RNC, kick Steele to the curb, and give the RNC a makeover (including lipstick). She could get much more done for this nation as opposed to running for office - but that could come later...

This would:
* Bring conservative principles back to the RNC (small government, get government out of our lives, lower taxes, 2nd amendment support, state's rights, small business support, lower taxes, strong defense, no-nonsense foreign policies). Conservatism works every time it is tried.

* She could be a credible spokesperson for energy, drilling, etc in light of sane environmental initiatives.

* She could, on a daily basis, take the wind out of Barry's Marxist sails on a host of his anti-American issues (bank take-overs, nationalization of large sectors of the economy, socialism, class warfare, generational theft, bigger government, job killing). Her media appeal would take away from the daily barrage of "new plans" put out ad nauseum by Barry, Rahm, Steffy, and 'Astro-Turf' Axelrod. She would be a countervailing force to the crap we get from the White Crib on a nearly hourly basis. If Republicans embraced the Twitter, Facebook, MySpace internet viral communications, it would be a direct hit against Barry's minions.

* She could - and this is the biggest reason she should take over the RNC - help with a 1994-esque take-over of both houses and start blocking the hopey-dopey-changey-strangey crap we have seen for the last 6 months.

The Presidency would be OK for her later on, but short-term we need to do things that set the stage for long-term solutions, that is, GET THE SENATE BACK (which will run to the SCOTUS issues), get the HOUSE BACK (which runs to spending and social engineering issues).

We need to be strategic, not knee-jerk, and Sarah may be an important rallying point to meet these objectives AS THE HEAD of the RNC. This is not the time for a third party - it will take WAY too long. Give the RNC a make-over, clean house, and get on with it!

But I could be wrong....
