Another Ethics Complaint Rejected

July 15, 2009, Anchorage, Alaska - The Alaska Personnel Board has rejected another ethics complaint lodged against Governor Sarah Palin.

The complaint alleged that the governor misused state time by accepting media interviews. The complaint also alleged that Governor Palin was paid for television and radio interviews. Governor Palin has not been paid for media interviews.

This complaint was filed by Raymond Alvin Ward on July 9. It was rejected in part because it was not properly notarized. In addition, Personnel Board Chairman Debra English said the board had already determined media interviews did not violate the Ethics Act. Ward lacked evidence to support his allegation that the governor received any payment for media interviews.

Governor Palin's attorney, Thomas Van Flein, responded to the dismissal saying, "The board has appropriately determined that a complaint must have a factual basis of some type and that complaints based on pure speculation are not proper. This most recent complaint demonstrates the problem with the system, and the manner in which it can be abused."

That’s #16 in Palin’s favor. 16-0 to date. There are still 4 pending.

One other thing, her attorney was on Greta's show again just now and once again said these tactics are right out of the book on Rahm Emanuel..."The Thumpin".

It's interesting they seem to be bringing Alinsky/Axelrod goon tactics up over and over. Wonder where they might be going with that?

I disagree. This is not what the Obama war room wanted. They probably considered the scenario of Palin not running for re-election (rumor circulating in Alaska) but I don’t think they figured that Palin would extricate herself from being Governor because of the criticism it would invoke. That Sarah did has thrown all of Obama’s plans off kilter and they are now in a panic or disarray, as witnessed now by Move.on org launching a campaign to attack Sarah who is soon to be a private citizen.

CNN was happy to put it front and center on their Web sight that a new ethics compliant was filed against Palin a week or so ago.

My bet is they won't report at all that it was just tossed...

Frivolous lawsuits should cost the initiator all court costs and a fine.

I don’t think they figured that Palin would extricate herself from being Governor because a liberal would never willingly give up power unless they were 100% certain of getting into a more powerful and influential position.

These are frivolous suits, and it seems to me there must be some laws on the books to protect people, not just public figures, from this sort of thing.

Why haven’t some of these people been prosecuted for this B.S.?

I’m wondering why our Alaska liberal socialist politicians don’t find themselves being hit with similar ethics charges. They step foot in Safeway to buy a carton of milk? Must be receiving kickbacks from the grocery lobby; better file an ethics complaint. They drink beer? Obviously in bed with the liquor lobby. Smoke? Obviously pandering to Dear Leader’s own vice, and also probably on the take with Big Tobacco. Do they breathe? Must be receiving slush money from Greenpeace. File on all of em!
