FAYETTEVILLE, TN (WAFF) - Lincoln County Sheriff Murray Blackwelder said the suspect in the slayings of six people in Tennessee and Huntsville called 911 after killing his wife, her son, brother and father, and two other people Saturday morning.
At a press conference Tuesday afternoon, Blackwelder said when sheriff's deputies arrived at one of the crime scenes, they found Jacob Lee Shaffer on the front porch with his estranged wife's 9-year-old daughter, who was physically unharmed.
He then made unprompted statements that lead people to search both the homes of Tracie Shaffer and her father Billy Hall, where they found the bodies of Tracie Shaffer, Billy Hall, Billy's son Chris Hall, Tracie's son Devin Brooks and his friend Robert Berber.
Blackwelder said that Jacob Shaffer was found to be carrying stun guns at the time of the attacks. He had used large kitchen knives obtained at the Hall's home to carry out the slayings, Blackwelder said.
Blackwelder said that Sidney Dempsey, a family friend and worker at Billy Hall's custom marble business on Orchard Drive in Huntsville, was killed by Jacob Shaffer and left inside a barrel at the business late Friday night or Saturday morning. Jacob Shaffer then got a ride to Lincoln County, where he carried out the other five slayings, Blackwelder said.

That'll cut down on horrible crimes such as this.
We should probably do something about the awful moral decline of this country. Who knows, it might prevent another incident like this. At least it wouldn’t hurt.
As soon as the gun grabbers forfeit their armed guards, I will too.
