FWIW, people are still dying from the human equivalent of mad cow disease in Britain. That made all sorts of news years ago, Now it isn’t newsworthy. It hasn’t stopped.
They were making a distinction between Classic CJD and Variant CJD.
According to the articles, the woman had Classic CJD. I got the impression from local tv news that Classic CJD was less contagious than Variant CJD. Again, that’s just the impression I was left with from the report— I haven’t had a chance to look for more info re: the two types. (Right now I’m on dial up and a laptop that doesn’t even hold its date....)
