You see alot of day laborors in Roswell GA (a town a fe miles north of Sandy Springs) on saturday mornings however I must admit there are not as many of them as there used to be. I geuss a recession will do that.
I didn’t see anything sinister in this. It makes sense...
I didn’t see anything sinister in this. The people wanting jobs have to stay within the limitations too. It makes sense...
“So under the new law, the city will fine any driver who doesnt pull off and park to hire the workers”
Say wha? Eh? Come again? I gotta pull off and hire em or get fined? As they say, comin’ in weak and stupid.
Well, they’re just getting ready for the Great D. Soon there won’t be any illegals it’ll be the guy next door.
/sarc
The reason a lot of illegals are here is because Americans hire them. I really have no sympathy for employers who knowingly hire illegals (which, face it, is about all of ‘em).
Q: What is the penalty if I run over a few of those illegals and leave them like road kill?
A: You will be paid from the fines collected from those who don't pull over and hire them? sarc.
Q: Will they have a trap to stop those who pass?
A: This will take most of the law enforcement resources of the town. But we are serious!
Right....
They are all living in apartments nearby. I guess the slumlords don't check ID.
We have ourselves to blame. I've heard several staunch Americans tell me they were going to hire "a couple of Mexicans" to clean up their yard, etc.
In the spirit of truth, I can see why so many Mexicans come north to look for work. All around Mexico City are dirt-poor 'burbs of people living in cardboard huts with no running water, sanitation or electricity. Of course they are going to try whatever they can to make their situation better. They have nothing and no hope.
But the law is the law, and security is security. It is up to the Mexican government to get those people water and toilets.
I see. In regards to the context of the piece, April Hunt, of the Atlanta Constitution Journal made the error. She should have written that people who stop to hire there may be fined.
The article is poorly written in a couple of places.
If you KNOWINGLY hire an illegal, you should do serious jail time.
