Earth bears scars of human destruction: astronaut

" A Canadian astronaut aboard the International Space Station said on Sunday it looks like Earth's ice caps have melted a bit since he was last in orbit 12 years ago.

Bob Thirsk, who is two months into a planned six-month stay aboard the station, said he is mostly in awe when he looks out the window, particularly at the sliver of atmosphere wrapped around the planet.

"It's a very thin veil of atmosphere around the Earth that keeps us alive," Thirsk said during an in-flight news conference. "Most of the time when I look out the window I'm in awe. But there are some effects of the human destruction of the Earth as well."

"This is probably just a perception, but I just have the feeling that the glaciers are melting, the snow capping the mountains is less than it was 12 years ago when I saw it last time," Thrisk said. "That saddens me a little bit."

"This is probably just a perception" which is reported as fact by the MSM.

12 years and the earth has changed? Really? I think maybe he's not getting enough oxygen.

Being a genius is not a requirement to be an astronaut.

Haven’t we had ice caps melting before now? Like even before humans trod this earth? England has archaeological evidence of once being a tropical climate. The English Channel was once frozen making a path to Europe.

And what made the glaciers melt, like the ones that carved out the great lakes....there had to have been global warming to do this. I don’t think ‘camp fires’ if there were any, sped this process along.

I am not educated in this area...but the focus on humans having so much influence in the ‘solar system’ only reflects the extremely narrow egocentricity of those who credit mankind with the climate change.

Reminiscent of idiot astronaut Eileen Collins, “Sometimes you can see how there is erosion, and you can see how there is deforestation. It's very widespread in some parts of the world. We would like to see, from the astronauts' point of view, people take good care of the Earth and replace the resources that have been used.”

I wonder what that big fireball used to propel her dumb ass into space did to the earth’s resources?

“Being a genius is not a requirement to be an astronaut.”

It is an affirmative action hire anymore.

Well, heck...why do we spend all this money on gathering climate data when we can just eyeball it?

Leave it to Canada to make astronauts out of their global warming hippy wackos.

Maybe this same guy should design a scientific experiment to determine whether smoking dope in a space station makes you “higher” than smoking the same amount of the same weed on earth.

HEY! I might be on to something. I’ve gotta go call NASA!
