BOSTON -- The caller who reported a possible break-in at the home of prominent black Harvard scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr. did not mention race in the call, according to the 911 tape that was released today by Cambridge Police.
The caller, Lucia Whalen, said she saw two men pushing on the door of the house.
She told police she is not sure if the men live there or not.
When pressed for a description by a dispatcher, she said one of the men may have looked Hispanic.
The call led to the arrest of Gates on a disorderly conduct charge, and a resulting national debate about racial profiling.
Gates called his arrest by Sgt. James Crowley an act of racial profiling. Crowley's supporters say Gates was belligerent.
In a statement issued Sunday by lawyer Wendy Murphy, Whalen -- who has not spoken publicly -- said she only saw the backs of the two men and did not know their race when she made the call.

Obama let his bias and underlying feelings be exposed with that statement.
In truth, underneath the sheen, and the thin venier...behind the TOTUS, Obama is just like Gates, Wright, Ayers, etc.
And, IMHO, that is the most revealing thing about the issue with Gates. He is so clearly another person and instance of a pattern that fits Obama's other "close friends".
Racist, hate filled, angry, people who detest traditional America and the free market and whose seething hatred is only just below the surface...and in some cases always out in the open. Frank Davis, Bill Ayers, Bernardine Dohrn, Jeremiah Wright, Henry Louis Gates, even his own wife, Michelle (by her own admission)...and the list goes on and on.
There is a clear pattern here that the MSM not only knows, but refuses to report. And that is because most of them share this hatred.
Obama and all those pushing his radical agenda are abject marxist ideologues. Their "fundamental; change" is nothing more than a destruction of the American free market and fundamental republican principle.

911 call is fascinating. No mention of black man. With Obamas invitation to gather Gates and Crowley for a beer, Sgt. Crowley now becomes the most dangerous man in American politics.
He joins Sarah Palin and Joe the Plummer, who both felt the sting of being thrust into conflict with Obama’s blinding star power. If he leaves that meeting with a biting comment about Obama and Gates, that moment will change the game. If he says “those two tried to force an apology” or “I was being played”, we can sit back and watch the fireworks.
Does anyone believe that those three men will actually have a candid, honest discussion?

The call does mention race.
When asked by the dispatcher if the men are “white, black or Hispanic,” Whalen said, “One looked kind of Hispanic,” also saying they were “larger men.
