Despite his denials, Connecticut Sen. Chris Dodd knew from the start he was getting a VIP mortgage break from a major lending group, an official involved in the loan testified secretly to Congress.
Dodd and Sen. Kent Conrad (D-ND) both got preferred treatment from Countrywide Financial Corp., but have maintained all along they didn't know they were benefiting at the time their mortgage packages were crafted.
The two men were part of an elite group known as "friends of Angelo," a reference to Countrywide CEO Angelo Mozilo.

WHERE THE HELL IS THE DAMMNED GOP DEMANDING AN ETHICS INVESTIGATION?
no majority, no investigation
How much did Angelo contribute to “the cau$e?”
How did the Dems get this to be “secret” testimony?
Dodd lied and he should be prosecuted for lying, for perjury, for misconduct, for malfeasance, for corruption. At the very least he should be kicked out of the Senate in disgrace. The acorn does not fall far from the tree in Dodd’s case.
Why don’t you condemn Dodd rather than the GOP?
BTW, what is this about Dodd moving his family to Iowa?
How about a criminal investigation?
Trying to pull a Spector?
Where’s Keith Obermaddow on any of this??? Or Anderson Cooper? Or Katie Colon?
You have a point. He is running behind in polls, so maybe a move to a state where he hopes to do better.
If the people of Iowa (or any other state for that matter) fall for Dodd’s line of BS, they’ll deserve him and his brand of far left politics.
Umm, Dodd is from Connecticut. If the nutmeggers reelect him next year, they are beyond hopeless. I’m pretty sure they dumped his father decades ago, although I think it was for the ultimate RINO Lowell Weicker.
This shows just how hopeless the Northeast really is politically.
These lefty commie politicians know they have these people in their back pockets and that they will get re-elected time after time after time no matter what they do so when they run amuck there is no punishment. The people just shrug it all off.
But let’s see what happens now that when these people start to lose their jobs right and left and cannot get any new jobs because no new jobs are coming down the pike to take, when they start to lose their homes because they cannot afford the mortgages anymore.
One can only hope that these people who live in the Northeast start to wake up sooner rather than later for the good of the entire country.
The clock on Sen. Dodd’s promise to the Hartford Courant that he would release his mortgage documents to the public now stands at 1 year and 4 days.
When the socialists were in the minority they called for investigations everyday of the week and made a lot of noise.
Nothing from the country clubbers over at the RNC though, they couldn't be bothered.
Bring on the investigation and nail anyone who pulled these kind of schemes!
Every year we should just send 1/3 of the congress to prison for 20 years. Rinse and repeat.
However, please notice that both Reid and Dodd are having reelection difficulties.
