WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama must once again hit the pause button in his drive to overhaul health care to revisit the racially charged issue that stole the spotlight from his top legislative priority - the arrest of his Harvard professor friend.

Obama, Cambridge, Mass., police Sgt. James Crowley and Harvard scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr., will meet at the White House on Thursday, each one drinking his favorite beer, in a public attempt to move past the emotional event.

The President cause the problem and now his making it worse, here is what annoys me about this story 1)"He invited both men over for beer, to be served at a picnic table near his Oval Office if thunderstorms forecast for Thursday hold off." WHAT IF IT RAINS ARE THEY NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO BE INVITED INSIDE? 2)Harvard Law School professor Charles Ogletree, an attorney for Gates, said late Wednesday: "This will be an important opportunity for the moment to settle their dispute, but also create a springboard for a larger discussion about how law enforcement interacts with minority communities and how we can figure out a way to both enforce the law but also protect civil liberties and civil rights of our citizens." OFFICER CROWLEY WAS JUST DOING HIS JOB SO WHERE IS "THE DISPUTE"

Notice that cameras will be allowed showing them entering the most expensive bar in America, but will not be allowed to be there when they leave so they can't comment on what was discussed. I'm sure the debriefing will be complete and favorable to the Messiah(it will be signed in blood)

Gates is just another Reverend Wrong...Obama is true to his racist friends...no matter what they do. This beer party is just plain stupid...first, because it's a "man" thing...second...it's promoting booze to settle things down. Maybe a little coke would work even better Mr. Prez...

This just "verifies" the racism of Gates and Obama. Crowley becomes the monkey in the middle.

The Black Caucus in Congress wants to drag the officer into an investigation when he comes to Washington DC.

This is just ridiculous.

When is the MSM going to call this farce "Un-Presidential?"

Poor Officer Crowley. He HAS to go to this 'summit' under threat from the Cambridge Police Dept and the White House.

Can you imagine having to sit there with a racist "professor" who is perhaps mentally unhinged and Obama? I would slug the beer in 10 seconds and run outside.

“As always, whitey now sits in judgment of me..."

Henry Gates

What a joke.

Racism is a sin of the human heart brought about by hatred, and only Christ can heal it. The problem with the "black community" is that it collectively has become a cauldron of racism, and it has not been held accountable - to God or man.

Obama and his wife are a product of this hatred, and they and their friends perpetuate it.

This despicable thuggery is its outcome.

The message to the "black community should be: "Don't talk to me about racism until you solve it in your own sinful heart first."

Meanwhile, it’s a turned into a friggin’ Gates family reunion:

“Gates will be accompanied by his father, fiancee, two daughters, brother, Ogletree and one of his close friends, Glen Hutchinson.”

White House ‘Beer Summit’ Becomes Something of a Brouhaha
U.S. Brewers Say Meeting With Professor, Policeman Should Be All-American Affair

By ROBERT TOMSHO

The president’s plan to toss back a few cold ones with some high-profile guests at the White House has the American beer industry hopping mad.

This afternoon, Henry Louis Gates Jr., the Harvard professor and race-relations expert, and James Crowley, the police sergeant who controversially arrested Mr. Gates, are to stop by for a round of brews that President Barack Obama hopes will promote racial comity.

The meeting is raising some sensitive issues, such as: What kind of beer?

Capitol City Brewing, a pub located a few blocks from the White House, lobbied Obama to serve its ‘Equality Ale.’

President Barack Obama will drink Bud Light when he sits down to end a feud between Professor Henry Louis Gates and Cambridge Police Sergeant James Crowley. Simon Constable offers suggestions on what could be on tap for the two White House visitors.

Late Wednesday, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs hinted the presidential cooler will likely be stocked with what he understood to be the two guests’ own personal favorites — Red Stripe and Blue Moon.

“The president will drink Bud Light,” Mr. Gibbs added.

The problem is that all three beers are products of foreign companies. Red Stripe is brewed by London-based Diageo PLC. Blue Moon is sold by a joint venture in which London-based SABMiller has a majority stake.

The officer should order up a quart of Colt 45 in a brown bag so the other two guys feel comfortable

Good point...I didn’t think of the “drinking to solve problems” angle. It does send the wrong message.

I was thinking more Colt 45 and not the one made in Baltimore.

Not really. He had to pick a clean, articulate, sort of black guy who is a rock star and can read a teleprompter. He was kind of limited.

You have got to be kidding me?

Crowley should refuse to go.

He is going into an ambush. I would demand to take along an entourage of supporters as well.

Either way, they are going to try and lable him as Mark mark Fuhrman who set poor innocent OJ up and planted evidence.

Don't go Crowley.

Teaching on tap at White House confab

John Kass

July 30, 2009

A trio of grand Irishmen descended from Irish kings will sit in the White House Rose Garden on Thursday and drink beer and talk about race in America.

Their names? Sgt. Crowley, Professor McGates and President O’Bama.

Naturally, because the host is a Chicago politician, he’ll be drinking Budweiser (actually Bud Light), the beer of choice in Chicago when it comes to talking about race during a teachable moment.

I sure hope the media is happy with this made-for-TV spectacle. But they’d like it even better if Chicago’s own King of Beers, Rev. Jesse Jackson, played the barkeep, dispensing wisdom with a brogue, just like Mr. Dooley of old. TV news would also like a studio audience handy, to cheer and clap and say “aww” in those teary teachable moments, when the beer drinkers wipe their mouths with the back of their fists and punch one another in the shoulder, affectionately, before the three of them start hugging and shouting, “I love you, man!”.................

entering the most expensive bar in America

Let me see if I got this right. We've got a couple of Irishmen (if you can believe Gates) getting together over beer to discuss differences....hmmm. This could get 'boisterous'.
