Ignorant bloggers go nuts over Michelle Bachmann
Washington Examiner ^ | 07-30-2009 | David Freddoso

This week, the House considered a resolution lauding the 50th anniversary of the admission of Hawaii as a state. After the the routine speeches in favor (there was no opposition), Rep. William Lacy Clay, D-Mo., yielded back the last seconds of time for debate. The Speaker pro-tem called for a voice vote on passage, which is also routine. And Rep. Michelle Bachmann, R-Minn., who happened to be holding the floor for the Republican side, objected to the vote because of the absence of a quorum -- which is also routine. This led the chairman to postpone the floor vote until later in the day, which is also routine.

Then, all of the sudden, posts from the Think Progress and Wonkette have the whole Left-blogosphere abuzz over the fact that Bachmann must be a "birther!" How do they reach that conclusion? Well, Hawaii is the state where President Obama was born -- or NOT born! So Bachmann must be making a statement by trying to not congratulating the state where President Obama was not born!

Part of the Alinsky template. They want to conflate all Republicans with “birthers?.

If Rep. Bachmann’s popularity continues to rise amongst conservatives, you can expect a full frontal attack no different than that aimed at Sarah Palin by the Marxist left.

Come now, house parliamentary procure sounds an awful lot like something leftist pseudo-journalists would have to actually take a little time to study and learn. You can’t expect so much.

That’s crazy. Not meaning to get off topic, but how can Minnesota give us a somebody like Michelle Bachmann and give us Al Franken at the same time? I realize he may have stolen the election, but dang, it shouldn’t have been close. (I know the answer, I was just thinking out loud.)-—JM

Michelle Bachmann and Sarah Palin are the two best men in America...

(which is to say they have more balls between the two of them than the entire GOP contingent in the Senate)

With the exception of Jim DeMint. He’s shaping up well.

Tha same way all the other loonies get into the senate - the state of Minnesota consists of liberal kingdoms (Minneapolis, St. Paul and Duluth/Iron range) - and the rest of us are in conservative territory. That pretty much explains it.

Absolutely!! It’s difficult to identify the
“good guys” anymore. However, I believe I have a foolproof way. Anytime the MSM yells, screams and wets the floor about someone, I start with the assumption that they must be after a “good guy”. Works for me right now.

Yeah - I understand. Most of the folks I’ve known from Minnesota seemed pretty level headed and ordinary. ( I mean that in a good way - no offense intended.) I think it is probably like my home state of Virginia. Most of the state is fairly conservative, or at least traditional. Unfortunately, you have a good chunk of the population living in metro DC, and they tend to be more liberal than the rest of the state. They also have a large percentage of folks from other states. A lot native Virginians don’t really like to count Northern Virginia as part of the state. The reality is we already have a good sized Black population that traditionally goes Democrat, and a liberal city population whose number is growing. I don’t think a conservative candidate should change their message or principles, but in reality if he wants to win he is going to have to pick up some of those votes. It’s doable. JMHO
