Palin NOT attending Event At Reagan Library
Facebook ^

Posted on 07/30/2009 4:58:18 PM PDT by WillT

From Sarah Palin's Facebook page:

As repeatedly stated to several in the media over the last week, former Governor Sarah Palin is not committed to attend the Simi Valley Republican Women’s event at the Reagan Library and in fact is not attending the event. Neither the Governor’s state staff nor SarahPAC has ever committed to attending this event or speaking at this event, and even requested that the Governor's name be removed from the invitation several weeks ago. The Governor has other work and commitments to take care of at that time. She looks forward to visiting her friends in California soon.

All event requests must be confirmed not by the invitee but rather through Meghan Stapleton with SarahPAC. Additionally, all invitations bearing the Governor’s name must be approved by her attorney before proceeding.

Thank you. Meghan Stapleton

Everyone’s gonna want a piece of Sarah for the next two years.

Not sure if that’s good or bad, but I’m sure she’ll be HIGHLY selective as to WHO she is seen with and which Republicans (no RINOs, Sarah!) she supports along her path to The White House. :)

See, I knew it, people put her names on events that she has not even committed to attending. This is exactly what the media wanted, to say “See, she flaked out of another event” when in reality she NEVER said she was attending

The last line is telling : “Additionally, all invitations bearing the Governor’s name must be approved by her attorney before proceeding.”

I find this part VERY interesting. She's being really careful right now.

Still, her PR people have got to get a better grip on this—whether it’s not leaving ‘maybe’ acceptances hanging or setting the record straight more quickly. I’m not sure what’s at the root of the problem.

Who better to link yourself with than the memory of the greates president of our generation?

Why would this be announced through a social networking site?

Another good question. They’ve really got to get this sort of thing squared away.

Yeah that line I did not understand, how come she needs permission to leave the state. She is a private citizen now, she can go whenever the heck she wants to. I’ve never heard of a lawyer having to approve of someone going somewhere

Palin has used Twitter and her Facebook page for releasing news items. She’s been doing this sort of thing for months now.

My guess is that there’s still some potential lingering trouble from the anklebiters during this early post-resignation period. Hence, her lawyer’s involvement in screening invitations.

Facebook has been Governor Palin’s medium of choice for making announcements since February. No big deal, Huck and Romney do the same thing.

She’s a private citizen now, she’s no longer a Governor, if she wants to go somewhere she can go. Of course every event has to be approved by her, I hate how people put her names on events without her permission just to get some publicity

Sounds like they are being very careful about use of her PAC funds.

It just seems kind of unprofessional - please note that I’m an avid fan of Sarah.

Actually, I always thought the trips to events are paid for by whoever is inviting her, or does she pay for the plane flight/hotel stay with her own money

Not saying she shouldn’t do that...maybe she’s not entirely impressed with the people that invited her? CA Republican Women? They ARE few and far between.

Can they be trusted? LOL!

(I’m like the ONLY Republican woman in ‘The People’s Republik of Madistan.’)
