Here is video in two parts of conservative Ann Coulter and the Rev. Al Sharpton debating the whole "Beer Summit" / Harvard Professor arrest case, and the larger subject of racial profiling. . . . . Ann Coulter said no racial profiling even took place in this case. Coulter said there is no "epidemic" of racial profiling in America, but there is an epidemic of false claims of racial profiling. . . . . (Watch Video)

I agree with Ann.

The real point of this whole Gates-Gate is the FACT that Obama had this question PLANTED and chose his words carefully.

He really wanted to say the cops acted racist, yet he said “stupidly” to avoid his prejudgment.

Obama had NO IDEA this would backfire. He wanted to end his stupid Death-Care press conference on a RACE BAITING question.

Obama is the true racist.

The debate misses the point. Race did not play a role. The problem was abuse of government power e.g. arresting a citizen for arguing with a cop.

Oh my goodness she brought up Tawana Brawley in the first 90 seconds :)

I am becoming more and more disappointed with Ann Coulter. She is smart enough to know that you cannot debate a liar or an idiot. With either you cannot get an honest answer.
I know for a fact the Al Sharpton is no idiot. Since I do not watch Larry King, I can only imagine how it went. But I am sure it was something like: Coulter; Gates was an ass Sharpton; No he wasn't, the cop is a racist and was profiling him. Repeat infinitum

This whole scenario is preposterous. Stupid blacks will now be even more confrontational toward police officers and expect a personal audience with the Poser-in-chief and his butt ugly wife.

BTW, the police officer did his job. Another stupid black refused to comply and got busted. As well he should. But because of the political clout jackson and sharpton, and company, the LEO is forced to grovel.

Disgusting.

"Stupid blacks" are those who, in one way or the other, try to milk the system to gain unfair advantage. Affirmative action, minority business loans, minority contracts, special consideration for minority criminals (such as the idiot professor). These are all indicative of stupid blacks.

Not all blacks are stupid. The others have something called character.

Only watched part on, but:

Ann could have handled this a lot better.

It's depressing when someone is handed lines and instead goes on with their prepared or baseline argument.

"Don't you agree that there IS racial profiling?
Of course there is, sometimes and in some places. There are also college city cops who love to bust Frat boys. There are big city cops who routinely pull over white drivers in black neighborhoods ("what are you doing here...?). And so forth...
THEN add the argument that profiling black people is not an epidemic and most reports of profiling prove to be something else.

As others have stated, "Profiling" in this case was claimed by Gates and Glorious Leader - there's no place in the record where profiling even might have been a factor. The two questions are "is it smart to argue with a policeman who has been called to your house for ANY reason?" and "is it legitimate to arrest someone who refused to STOP arguing with said cop"(!)

Coulter even dropped it when Sharpy made his point that the city did not charge Gates (ergo; bad arrest). Proper response is that it happens all the time and does not reflect on the arrest itself. Minor charges, issues that would cost more to carry forward than they are worth, most spousal conflicts, and a host of others are left as warnings or cooling off periods and never go farther.

Much as I love the lady, we get nowhere so long as we allow the other side to establish the issue and then respond by repeating an answer to something else because it was written into the last editorial.
(Don't we rag on democrats for doing precisely that - as in the Gibbs pressers?)

She kicked his lying ass - smacked him hard with Tawana Brawley and then categorically went down the list of racial hoaxes perpetuated upon the American people. Duke University take a bow for those 88 criminals against humanity.

Unfortunately the racial hustlers have now cried wolf so many times that when a sympathetic person is confronted with it they jump up and say “I no longer believe you.” I think Skippy Gates was in the middle of creating another conjured racist hoax when the tapes proved him wrong. They are looking for racists under the bed.

I don’t know if you are a troll, but the above is a typical troll comment. Ann kicked his butt.

Larry King continues to embarrass himself by being incapable of reining in his Leftist soul. Larry Elder (”absolutely, positively no “S”) and Ann shouldn’t give him the veil of “balance”.

It sounds like self-fulfilling prophecy. You are disappointed in Ann Coulter therefore you imagine her debate with Sharpton was a poor one, without even knowing what she said. The imagined debate causes you to be more disappointed in Ann Coulter.

How can the real Ann Coulter deal with this imaginary one? How can you?

The FR posters infected with Coulter Emasculation Syndrome have been popping out of the woodwork more than ever lately.

The one you responded to is perfect fodder for Coulter.

If he had said that to Coulter, a few pointed words from her would have left him in a puddle on the floor. She deals with leftist proclamations of that sort on a daily basis.

I had to say something because his post made no sense out of the blue. I couldn’t understand why he would be attacking her like this. It sounded screwy.

Race did not play a role.

That's not what Skippy said.

But he denies saying "I'll see yo mama on the porch."

He accused the cop of racial profiling. "That's the way blacks are treated in America"

So Gates brought race into this.

The problem was abuse of government power e.g. arresting a citizen for arguing with a cop.

That proves you have no idea what went down in this situation

Huh? Please elaborate on your logic. For me the arrest is the issue not what Gates thought was in the cop's mind. Race did not IMHO play a role in the cop's decision to arrest Gates. The cop arrested him because he talked back and was not deferential. Cops wrongly abuse their power all the time in this way against BOTH blacks and whites.

It seems like you see this in terms of black and white (no racial pun attended) that is you see Gates as a "bad guy" and any cop who arrests him as automatically as a good guy. I disagree. Gates is a jerk and race baiter AND the cop who arrested him abused his power.

Well good for you, I agree.

If Gate's would have kept his racist thoughts in his mind, it wouldn't have race as an issue at all.

Being as he brought it into the situation with what he said, Gates brought race into the fray.

Race did not IMHO play a role in the cop's decision to arrest Gates.

Good, I agree with you here too.

The cop arrested him because he talked back and was not deferential.

Not because he "talked back", but not being deferential, yes. It's best to have a certain modicum of respect for an officer of he law when he comes to your house to investigate a suspected break in.

Plus what you call talking back, in your best Skippy impression, was yelling and accusing and dissing a cop.

To such a point that it was causing a disturbance even out side the home.

Cops wrongly abuse their power all the time in this way against BOTH blacks and whites.

True, but that has nothing to do with this case.

Gates was trying to twist it in to that though. He could use it as an example in his new book.

And his buddy Obama helped him out big time.

Stupidly, I might add.

It seems like you see this in terms of black and white

There is no way that can be seen in any of my posts, or in my mind.

...see Gates as a "bad guy" and any cop who arrests him as automatically as a good guy. I disagree.

I diagree too. That came out of your mind, not mine. Projection, but not valid at all.

Gates is a jerk and race baiter

Yes, and by being so arrogant as to think he had the right to publicly produce his racist race baiting false accusations in such an unruly manner as to cause a disturbance in the neighborhood is what got him arrested.

...the cop who arrested him abused his power.

Not true at all. He did what any good cop should have done in a situation like that, no matter what the race of either participant.

Don't make this into a black/white thingie like Obama/Gates did. It's not.
