Swine Flu Map and Correlation of Higher Death Rates?
Vanity ^ | Today | JessDuntno

No racism intended...fear for my grandchildren...but why is this happening? Is there a direct correlation? I do not find any further data on the subject.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30435064/ns/health-swine_flu

Why do states with higher numbers of illegals have a higher death rate?

I wonder why the map of the swine flu outbreak and the death rate is so utterly consistent. There must be a wide variation in the strength of the flu that makes the death rates so much higher in those states that have a greater proportion of Mexican immigrants...legal or not, but the states that seem to have a higher ratio for "sanctuary cities" or illegals generally, are higher mortality states.

Look for yourself, but to give an example, Wisconsin has 6,000 cases but only 6 deaths, while CA has HALF the reported cases but 52 deaths.

Likewise, AZ has an equal number of cases as WY, yet there have been 15 deaths in the former; none in the latter. I think this belongs in the poitical category.

I am not a doctor, but would like some help trying to figure out why I can find no explanations for this disparity and surely, we are not LEGALLY allowing sick people into the country, are we?

Title should be Correlation; also, if this is misplaced, please correct, but I think it is political rather than medical.

What this conclusively demonstrates is so far the ‘normal flu bug’ is killing ten times as many in each and every state over the same time frame.

Some states are more likely to report the cases. WA isn’t reporting cases unless people are in the hospital (not just seeing the doctor) or dead. I bet CA has had way more cases than have been reported. I think I would blame spring-breakers in Mexico as much as illegals, really.

Funny thing.. it’s **winter** in the southern hemisphere (peak flu season) - and there is no mass flu extinction going on down there...

I’m sorry, I don’t follow...

The problem seems to be very severe in England right now, flu going person-to-person, and not related to Mexican immigrants

Frightening, but good, point...

My question would be, why does Wisconsin have double the cases of swine flu?

It’s even cold in the southern Hemisphere for a change. Buenos Aires had snow for the first time in several decades.

the states that seem to have a higher ratio for "sanctuary cities" or illegals generally, are higher mortality states.

The higher death rate is beacuse undocumented workers do not have equal access to healthcare. So we need to make it our priority to defeat those murderous members of congress who oppose the President's heal care bill.

The illegal aliens aren't stopping for a health check and permission to enter the country illegally. It's kind of a silly question. The correlation to higher mortality in parties with hispanic surnames may be a function poor health and nutrition in that demographic or a concern about seeking health care with the prospect of being identified as illegally present in the country.

Some demographic study of legal/illegal, income, employment status might yield something more relevant than just correlation to hispanic surnames. Recall the first cases were associated with persons who arrived in the U.S. from Mexico (residents and visitors).

Actually, while watching rugby from Sydney last week they mentioned that the flu has been pretty bad.

One rugby team almost had to cancel because they had a hard time fielding a team.

Called Sydney the swine flu capital of the world.

“The problem seems to be very severe in England right now, flu going person-to-person, and not related to Mexican immigrants”

Is it the same strain, is what I am wondering. For instance, MI, with a MUCH higher rate of immigration from Arab countries, has a different profile than surrounding states, and closer mortality (higher, even) than that of the EU.

I doubt whether we have enough information to draw any definite conclusions. And if there is an politically incorrect connection, I doubt whether the health authorities or the news media will report it.

It was noticeable during the spring swine flu scare that the numbers seemed to be constantly shifting around and unreliable.

Everything is politicized. Not only because more and more ideologues are at the levers of power, but because that’s where the money is for research grants, contracts for vaccines, good academic jobs, and other considerations.

I listen to ABC radio in Oz, and they have been reporting that ‘seasonal flu’ in higher numbers than ‘swine flu’ by a factor of 3. Johannesburg ZA is reporting about the same infection rates.
