Jean Shaheen (Socialist - NH) is having a "Telephone Townhall Meeting" this evening

Posted on 08/06/2009 6:47:59 AM PDT by Redleg Duke

I was called the other night by a recording of Senator Jean Shaheen (Socialist - NH), inviting me to "join her in a telephone townhall meeting" this evening (Thursday, August 6, 2009). I was told I could opt out by calling her Washington office.

I have noticed a flood of "telephone townhall meetings" by the RAT Party. They obviously have decided that this is a safe venue for them, where they can cut off anyone who dares to question the party line.

I called her office this morning to opt out of the telecon. I told her flunky that if she didn't have the courage and courtesey to face her constituents, she had nothing of value to say. I also told him that I didn't want my contact information forwarded to the White House "snitch" link. He claimed to know nothing about that program.

How do we fight the "telephone townhall" gambit?

Tell them that in November of 2010, we will be voting in person, not by telephone. If they don't want to hear bad news from us in 2010, they might want to listen to us in person in 2009.

Lets have our own town hall meetings without them. We could party and have an empty chair. Mabe we could get election opponents to answer our questions.

Bring posters with pitchforks and torches on them.
Bring tar and feathers and an effigy of the congressbastard in question.

Use video and post it on YouTube. Ask them questions and then show the empty chair or cardboard cut out and silence, then ask them another question then show the empty chair and/or cardboard cut out etc.

It could be done both humorously and with an edge. Properly done it would generate many thousands of hits and create a real stir.

I say get the local news involved. I know local news is difficult sometimes but they are less biased most of the time. Get a hold of newspapers. Keep calling their office. Stand outside the office.

How do we fight the telephone town halls??

Get a life-sized, cardboard cutout of the leftist dem in question and get hundreds of people to attend a Townhall with the cutout “presiding.” The government owned media will probably ignore such contempt for its idols, but who knows??? Send it to ABC, CNN etc!!!

The "telephone town hall" is a tactic of desparation.

Congresscritters who don't face the voters in their districts face-to-face will lose elections. Picture a Congressman's opponent having a face-to-face town hall with a cutout effigy of the Congressman, making the point that said Congressman REFUSED to meet with his constitutents.

A losing ploy.

What a coincidence. Shaheen’s office in Nashua, NH is right above the Nashua Telegraph newspaper office.
This just happens to be a very left leaning newspaper.

Show up on their lawn, and when you do, make sure that you are dressed in suitably shabby attire. (I’m thinking an Obama-as-Joker t-shirt should do nicely...)

How many lines does she get to call at once?

Doesn’t that cost a ton of money?

"Doesn’t that cost a ton of money?"

Hey, it's not her money, it's our money. Not a problem for her!

Besides, the new population of New Hampshire has short term memory problems! After all, they elected her to the Senate after having her for governor.

This is hilarious.

Is the next step going to be ‘write-in’ town hall meetings?

It would be easy to laugh at these gutless wonders if it weren’t for the fact that they’re running the country right now.

Yes.

The answer is to organize at the grassroots level, as so may leftists discovered back in the 60’s.

The immediate goal, of course, is 2010, but we should also be bucking up for 2012.

This same grassroots effort can be used, successfully, to dislodge, and replace, the Old Guard RINOs that now populate altogether too many local Republican parties.

Grassroots organizing also means grassroots educating, and as the Obamanauts rush in, pulling us headlong into a black hole of ever-stunting fascism, painting the picture of a an emerging Fascist America, side by side with a 1930s emerging Fascist Germany, buttressed with news stories and real, factual data of the crumbling state of the Economy under the fascism we are facing, is appropriate education.

A lot of people out there don't have the time, or the patience, for this type of sustained education, so we have to utilize short, high-impact, soundbite type marketing.

It must always be the truth, which means it cannot be refuted, cannot come back to bite us in the ass, and which will be resistant to distortion and innuendo (”The truth exists because it is the truth, and someone in the universe desires that it be so”. There is no stronger basis for it's existence, and it's dissemination.)

Because this is a bona fide “movement”, you will find lots of receptive people. The message, if delivered right, will have that ring of truth that will simply feel right to many, many of these people.

While there are a lot of us, our numbers for doing this ourselves are not great enough, and thus we need recruits to help us spread the message.

And who do we get to do this for us?

Youth!

Yes, that's right, our young people.

These kids have been in socialist indoctrination centers (SIC) most all their lives, it is true, but they are still young people!

Given that, our message to them is one that strikes a responsive chord among young people everywhere - we are the party, the foundation, the purveyors, of the only true source of revolution possible today!

Just because lefties, communists, anarchist, and others of questionable ideology have used it in the past doesn't mean they have a monopoly on it, or license to it.

We're using the tried and true methods used in the past, to give new life to the Greatest Revolution of them all.

Communism/socialism has an impeccable history of being the Grim Reaper of political failure. We emphasize this. Contrast this record with the One True Revolution - the American Revolution.

We have history on our side. We have the moral dialectic on our side. We have economics on our side. We, by default, win the Life vs. Death debate. We create jobs, we don't kill an economy so they don't come back. We are truly Truth, Justice and the American Way.

Given what is happening in America today, this should be the easiest sell ever.

That's my message - start grassrooting now!

I forgot to mention the phenomenon of ACORN. They require a different approach.

Because Obama has so openly embraced them and, by implication, their methods, they have an air of quasi-respectability, and thus we must fight them on the legal front, especially while our leegal system still has some semblence of it's Original Intent.

Whenever a problem that is ACORN-related arises, it must be confronted immediately with a counter- and stronger reply. Documentable illegalities and irregularities must be forcefully presented to local DAs and the like. It must be done immediately, with great legal force. The idea is less to win the case, than to ties them up and delay it's actions.

We need to take this approach until we have people in positions of power that can remove taxpayer funding for these cretins.

After that happens, the aim becomes to bleed them dry.

And win, of course.

Then there is the problem of the media.

For now, it must be our policy to ignore them. We are, after all, operating at the local level, and that is the interface we should employ.

That is not to say that local media won't be helpful - indeed, in most cases, they probably will. We should utilize them to the fullest.

Still, the approach, for now, should be one of "the mountain must come to Mohammad".

In the meantime, alternative methods for dissemination of the news and attendant information regarding our efforts must be developed.

On the local level, that means establishment, by local operatives, of Web sites containing pertinent data. These pages must be updated daily. For those not computer savvy, or without access to computers, a local newsletter should be developed (”Samizdat”) that is free and has unlimited distribution. Local operatives should develop and maintain local points of distribution.

In addition to all this, local operatives must continually reiterate to their communities that efforts will be made to marginalize the movement, and the issues. This must be met head-on, with appropriate data being employed to immediately turn the tables on the accusers. it must be emphasized that these attempts at marginalization are really an attempt to marginalize, and subsequently silence, these people themselves. They should emphasize to the community itself that this is unacceptable. The idea is to continuously stay on message.

Once again, at the grassroots level, it's EDUCATE, EDUCATE AND EDUCATE.

Any questions?

What conservative candidate are you working for? I want to know so I can watch them rise like a meteor in politics.

Excellent strategies.
