I was asked in the last couple of days to sign a petition of some sort in “support of Obama’s health care.”
I said, “No.” Saw some out-of-staters who’d come a couple of hundred miles south, too. (license plates)

On the one hand they tell their supporters to bring signs, leaflets, etc. but on the other tell MOCs to publish notice that signs/leaflets won’t be allowed. ALl depends on the signs/leaflets, I guess.
Keep bumping this thread to let people know the game plan.
IMO this HC issue is the bell, it forces everyone to recognize who is who and to take a side....this is the Waterloo that Jim Demint recognized and alerted us about. To the Barricades my compatriots!
I wish we were this organized and/or as organized as they think we are. I also wish we had some of that money they think we have!
Except, of course, trial lawyers.
This is all about POWER. Government POWER.
It always has been.
Well it didn’t exactly “leak out.” It’s right on their website, http://healthcareforamericanow.org/site/fight
If you go to the group’s main page, it’s the big item “3”. The whole premise of the group is out there along with all their arguments. It’s almost as if they think they have nothing to hide!
“INTERCEPTED!” is a bit of an exaggeration.
They hate the fact that we ALL have the right to organize.
If a conservative group spoke of limiting the opposition’s access to their representatives, the media would be all over it.
Every patriot that they beat will bring out thousands more.
Darn those pesky polls that show the majority of Americans don’t want Uncle Barry to mess with our health care system.
That Uncle Barry is SUCH a UNITER, isnt he?
It told me more that what you see here about "Health Care for America Now!, a group supporting President Obama's recommended plans."
“than” not “that”
:)

Note this part...
"support HCANs vision of health care reform in ways that build power for permanent local organizations."
This is all about POWER.

I think you nailed it.
4. Arrive earlier than the other side does. We need to stack our folks in the front to create a wall around the
Member, and we need to stake out the best spots for visibility and signs. Reconnaissance on the venue and an
understanding of the staging will be important here. Make sure you do your homework so you can position your
folks most effectively.
5. Be more visible than the other side. Bring more signs and leaflets, and whenever possible, post your signs all
over the place so that you visually out-perform the other side. Make sure you have people holding signs in every
place where a TV camera is likely to be and that next to every right wing sign, theres one of your signs with your
message.
6. Have a real plan for the media. Remember, this is a communications strategy that the right wing is using and
our goal is to stop them from hijacking and changing the message and tone of these events. Assign 3-5 people
to speak with the reporters who attend and make sure the reporters understand the scope and message of the
event. If you let the media just report on what they see, they will invariably focus on the mayhem. That is a far
juicer story than affordability and the public health insurance option.
