At the request of members, I am restarting those "Tales from the Dark UnderBelly Of the Beast"-- the stories and issues that the press and media either ignore, won't even talk about, or will mention once and forevermore claim "it's old news..."
Naturally, some will be stories which interest me, or things I think we all need to be aware of.
I am experimenting with a minor change in presentation- when I can, I will cut to
with a keyword or two and see what kind of links to "mainstream" stories I can find in contrast to what we see here and on other sites.

This is a letter written by a lady from the Massachusetts 912 project; she attended the meeting and was told no cameras or questions.
To all concerned patriots. Michelle and I went to the so called "town hall" meeting today in Worcester. Congressman McGovern was joined by Richard Neal. It was standing room only. It was such an orchestrated dog and pony show it was ridiculous. We were outraged, as were many other people. As soon as they began, they announced that questions that had been submitted on index cards would be addressed at some point during the "discussion" That brought an outcry from those of us who wanted to ask some real questions. There were a few, particulary one very outspoken woman, who sat down front, who came right out and stated that she was all for the healthcare plan. Every time one of the many who are opposed tried to speak, she basically led the chant of "shut up" and sit down. At one point people were told that they would be removed from the proceedings if they continued to shout out questions. Then they agreed to take questions if we wrote them on index cards and handed them to people who were posted there to collect them. There was no opportunity to get up and speak. It was the most blatant example of the Obama lovers deliberately trying to silence any who dared to disagree. We were also told that we could not bring our cameras into the "meeting" One man had to take his all the way back to his car. This was not a meeting, it was an informercial and propaganda tour. People better wake up and start doing something to stop this, or we are all doomed. Neither McGovern or Neal truly answered questions from us, other than the usual evasive liberal rhetoric.
These people are afraid to even let us speak.

“I want a man that looks like a man, feels like a man, and smells like a man!”
I might add, I feel the same way about women- don’t want a damn hothouse plant doused in perfume- I’ll take honest sweat any day.
While I suspect this report might be goosing the hyperbole a little, at least it’s pointed in the right direction...

The numerous libels in that short excerpt are breathtaking. There were no cries of “socialist” or “communist” from speakers at Palin rallies. The “birther” movement was born out of the Hillary Clinton supporter camp.
And if these mendoucheous, leftist gasbags want to accuse every dissenting person who showed up at a Tea Party as being paid by “K Street lobbiests” then come prove I received any checks.
The stink of fear is strong with these amoral fuckwits.
U.S. Reps. James P. McGovern and Richard E. Neal were heckled and booed after trying to rally support today for President Barack Obama's plan for a comprehensive national health insurance program.Hopefully, members of the Obama Snitch Squad were able to report on this mob to Dear Leader.
The two Worcester-area Democratic lawmakers were shouted down several times by people attending a packed “town hall” meeting at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
UMass officials threatened several times to end the gathering because of the raucous behavior, which occurred despite a heavy police presence.
At one point, Mr. McGovern was likened by an attendee to Josef Mengele, the Nazi officer who performed experiments on concentration camp survivors.
Despite the generally hostile crowd, the two legislators insisted that a health care overhaul was desperately needed and that changes to the system would financially benefit all.

Last year, lawmakers excoriated the CEOs of the Big Three automakers for traveling to Washington, D.C., by private jet to attend a hearing about a possible bailout of their companies.Remember: Everyone must sacrifice.
But apparently Congress is not philosophically averse to private air travel: At the end of July, the House approved nearly $200 million for the Air Force to buy three elite Gulfstream jets for ferrying top government officials and Members of Congress.
The Air Force had asked for one Gulfstream 550 jet (price tag: about $65 million) as part of an ongoing upgrade of its passenger air service.
But the House Appropriations Committee, at its own initiative, added to the 2010 Defense appropriations bill another $132 million for two more airplanes and specified that they be assigned to the D.C.-area units that carry Members of Congress, military brass and top government officials.
I’ve been wanting to post this July 2009 article, and provide more commentary. I do usually link to several related pieces that relate in my posts in general. But in light of the Obama and media mistruths being spread about the status of the economy, and using stock numbers and fuzzy interpretation of indicators, I’m posting this now for you to peruse in it’s entirety. It paints a less than pretty picture compared to the rosy views being fed to the American citizen by the O’admin and his puppet media. But surviving economic realities requires removing the rose colored glasses, and preparing ourselves for the best ways to weather thru economic corrections.

Art appreciation aside, does anyone remember the recent demonizing of corporate fellows who dared to take private jets to business meetings? Remember how they offended both the president and Maxine Waters, who was so overwhelmed by their evil she had to be calmed down during questioning? Remember how those private jets became emblematic of the larger problems of corporate greed and entitlement, how flying corporate jets was an earth-killer and a devilish misuse of revenue when bottom lines were going red and there were shareholders to answer to? Here we are, just a few months later, and Congress orders three earth-killing private jets, misusing revenue when bottom lines are red and there are taxpayers to answer to.
They don’t seem to care about that “answering to” part.
These elitists commissars are going to shame the rest of the country into mass transit and long lines, while they drive by us in their limos, making the power sign and telling us -between their bites of pate foie gras and sips of bubbly- to “keep it real” as they are driven to the airport to board their private jets. And there will be countless schlemiels who will stand there on the corner, applauding the elites as they ride by (or perhaps simply trying to keep their hands warm) before going home to write in their diaries (because their blogs are gone) “saw Emmanuel pass by in limo! He looked right at me and brought his thumb to his nose, like at the inauguration! The idiots around me gasped and grumbled, because they didn’t get it, but I got it, and I felt like such an insider!”
Speaking of blogs and computers, Linda Douglass, who used to be a reporter for ABC before she became an Obammunist Propagandist, tells us that there are some people out there “with a lot of time on their hands” who are using the President’s own words to spread lies and disinformation on the benevolent Health Care Solution currently being rhammed down our throats. She is urging the other people with a lot of time on their hands to report that first group of liars to the White House, so they can um…correct their thinking.
Anyone recall how, after 9/11 -after we’d been attacked in NYC and DC- the Bush Administration said: “If you see anything suspicious, you ought to report it,” causing conniptions on the left? How dare the Bushies ask people to snitch for security reasons! Now, for mere policy, that has become an acceptable, “if you see/hear anything disobedient, be the tattletale.”

Lots of double-standards, these days. Remember when Obama told his supporters to “get in the faces” of non-supporters? Remember when protests and demonstrations were patriotic and grass-roots efforts worthy of some notice and respect? Remember what fake, organized protests look like?
This morning the airwaves were all obediently echoing today’s DNC talking points: all the Town Hall protesters and Tea Party folk are “fake” protesters, who are “too well dressed” to be real protesters (no jeans or Che shirts, apparently) and all reminiscent of “those protesters back during Bush/Gore.”
They’re trying, of course, to hasten back memories of the bad-old-days when Bush did not steal the election (per the NY Times) and regular people would not countenance locked doors, closed shades and weird recounts. I think they should be careful about dredging up those days. Florida may have seen protests by Pale Men in Bermuda Shorts and Socks but Gore and the left did not exactly cover themselves in glory in 2000, either.

And as to charges of fakery and David-Axelrod-Invented “astroturfing” (projection, anyone?) at the townhall meetings, I have yet to see anything confirming or proving the allegation that “the evil insurance companies are bussing these people in,” but I do see that Americans are eager to attend these town halls, which rather belies the charge. The fact that I know ordinary people who have attended some of these meetings – not because they’ve been “organized” or “bussed in” like ACORN protesters, but simply because they heard about a meeting and got off their duffs to attend – belies the DNC-approved-Chris-Matthews-embraced narrative,too, but I wouldn’t expect anecdotals to convince.
Hmmmm…I wonder if I will be expected to Obey and Inform on them like a good citizen?

Let me just say that if you are desirous of “beating” me “to death,” you are not following the Obama Rules. You’re not supposed to flagellate me. You’re supposed to flag me, and my fishy facts, which are stubborn things.

Myself and friend, both in our 70's, stopped at a convenience store Saturday afternoon for beverage. The store was located about two miles from the center of West Palm Beach, FL. As we left the store, a group of young black males were outside and they said, "f*ck you motherf*ckers, we in charge now."
We said nothing but simply got in the car and dialed 911. The police responded, took our names and explanation, confronted the black males, and a verbal confrontation began. It was over quickly, as the police arrested the ring leader and told the others to leave the area. The arrested boy continued to shout at us with verbal threats and abusive language.

Here are a list of calm, reasoned, embarrassing quesations to ask your parasitic whore Congresscritter during your next Town Hall meeting.
Be polite, earnest, and respectful.
1. It was stated in 1965 by Ted Kennedy, in his Immigration and Naturalization Services Act, that "...our cities will not be flooded with a million immigrants annually.... Secondly, the ethnic mix of this country will not be upset....”. How do we have any confidence the predictions for this> bill will be any more accurate?
2. According to Reason magazine, "The House Ways and Means Committee estimated that Medicare would cost only about $ 12 billion by 1990 (a figure that included an allowance for inflation). This was a supposedly "conservative" estimate. But in 1990 Medicare actually cost $107 billion." How can we be sure the current bill won't turn into the same boondoggle (even the Congressional Budget Office is calling B.S. on Obama's numbers.)
3. The current bill pays for abortion on demand. Will it include a freedom-of-conscience provision for hospitals to exempt them from paying for it?
4. If not, how do you expect to make up for the shortfall of doctors and hospitals when they quit?
5. The current bill pays for abortion on demand. Would this bill have forced Sarah Palin to abort her youngest child, Trig?
6. This bill pays for abortion on demand. Will it pay for other elective procedures such as tummy tucks, teeth whitening, botox, and breast implants?
7. This bill pays for abortion on demand. Given the emphasis on cost containment and prevention, will there be mandatory sterilization of patients who present with three or more pregnancies for abortion in a two-year period?
8. Will this bill cover in-vitro fertilization? For how many attempts, and for how long?

10. How often will this bill review accepted medical treatments for unforeseen side effects (Celebrex, Thalidomide)?
11. How will malpractice be handled? Did you make sure the trial lawyers still get to sue everyone?
12. You have spoken extensively about greedy insurance companies. What is the lifetime deductible and the lifetime limit on benefits? Is it per person or per family?
13. Which pre-existing conditions will be covered, and for what period of time? It does not seem fair to exclude the obese (as has been suggested in Great Britain) but to allow (say) diabetics.
14. Will medical marijuana be covered? What FDA group will handle guarantees of purity, safety, and efficacy?
15. What about methadone and other treatments for narcotic addictions?
16. Will this affect intellectual property rights for pharamceuticals?
17. Will medial tourism (say to Mexico or India) be made illegal?
18. Will the plan cover smokers? Will it cover diabetics? What about sexually transmitted diseases? What guidelines will be put in place to reduce the prevalence of these conditions over time, in order to reduce costs?
19. Will AIDS be covered? How about domestic partners of homosexuals?
20. Will burial or cremation be covered?
21. Will Americans be allowed to participate in the same health plan as Federal Goverment employees?
22. Will Americans be allowed to participate in the same health plan as Congress?
23. Will we at least get health care as good as the terrorists in Guantanamo?
24. Will hospitals still be obligated to provide emergency room care for free to all comers?
25. How do we know our health records won't be pawed through like Joe the Plumber's private records? When was the last time a government bureaucrat lost their job over unauthorized snooping into health records?
26. In 2007, the British government LOST the private data on all British families with a child under the age of 16. How can we have the bureaucrat burned at the stake, drawn and quarterd, hung, fed to the lions, and then REALLY hurt who does this to our data -- note I say "when" not "if".
27. What guarantees do we have against our private data being sent to a Third-World country for processing "to save costs"?
28. How will you protect our private data against identity theft?
29. A June study out of the George Washington University Medical Center says that 10% of the ENTIRE cost of Medicare is fraud: and 80% of that is health care providers. Given that this program is even larger, how can we be sure we are not just pouring money into the pocket of some Congressman's brother-in-law?
30. Is mental health covered under this bill? Because you guys are just freaking NUTS !
At Wednesday's health care forum in Little Rock with Rep. Vic Snyder, Rep. Mike Ross said this to the audience - most of whom were there to show their disapproval with the Obamacare plan:
"I've said this several times but let me see if I can make it a little more clear," Ross said. "I don't represent Speaker (Nancy) Pelosi or President Obama or (House Finance Committee Chairman) Barney Frank."
In order to let you make your own conclusion as to the "truthiness" of Mr. Ross' remarks, I point you to the fact that he voted for the Obama-Pelosi-Frank-backed porkulus and omnibus spending bills in the 111th Congress, the $3.6 trillion budget, as well as the draconian Democrat House rules package which limited Republican ways to debate and amend legislation.
However, he did oppose the cap and tax bill, for which we are grateful.
The more I hear about this, the more I start to wonder if maybe the "birthers" might be right. I confess, when all this began I doubted the validity of their claims, but the more people dig into this, the more I begin to say; you know, I would also like to know about the passport, student loans, and other claims. It might be fairly easy to post another fake Birth claim, but I want to hear from all the people from his past who can show proof of exactly what he was all about through the years.
So now, they they think we have to pay people to protest this treatment? Have they heard even one word the American people have said?
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) proclaimed that those attending health care town hall meetings are "carrying swastikas." You can watch her say it below:
Interviewer: Do you think there's legitimate grassroot opposition going on here?Pelosi: "I think they're Astroturf... You be the judge. "They're carrying swastikas and symbols like that to a town meeting on healthcare."
If one were to take her at her word, surely the Nutroots (Netroots) would have been all over this story and can corroborate her assertion, right?

I ventured into the fever swamp to find confirmation of the Speaker's allegations. I went to the largest community sites searching for "Swastika." Surely that would turn up confirmation of the Speaker's claim.
Here's what I found...

Daily Kos Comment Search - Mostly non-related, but there is one comment which appears to be the source of Pelosi's contention. Here we find the one and only reference to someone (a kid) supposedly wearing a swastika to an event in Austin two weeks ago. Verdict: Possible source
With that to go on I found this report about the Austin event. No mention of swastikas in the report, but there was one comment mentioning a sign with swastikas. Verdict: Another possible source
The Daily Kos comment and the Burnt Orange Report comment are ostensibly about the same event but one person supposedly saw a kid with a swastika and another saw a sign. The Burnt Orange Report post indicates that there were only 40 or so protestors. The Burnt Orange Report comment indicates that there was media covering the event, yet none of the media noticed the swastikas? Seems pretty unlikely. More likely the two commenters were embellishing for a crowd (the other commenters) who were all too happy to believe whatever they said.
Aparently comment sections liberal blogs is where the Speaker of the House, number three in line to the Presidency, gets her information.

Michigan Democrats sending out bogus letters from constituents claiming to be sick, to support increased Government Health Care Top Party leaders

Oakland County Commissioner Shelly Taub, a Republican, received a letter from a constituent who wrote a very sad letter regarding her lack of health care coverage. The letter writer was begging for help for her "sick child." The Commissioner sprung into action. She did more than a little poking around. In fact, she scoured the entire County to locate the women. What she found didn't quite match what the letter writer had told her.The Oakland Press relays the story in "Dems sent out falsified Letters," Fri, July 3:
She felt like she had failed as a mother cause she couldn't afford health care for her ill son...
"I got this letter and it tore my heart apart" Taub said. "I thought My God... I know many people in health care, I'll get this kid some help."
Taub and her husband searched for information about the woman, found out that she actually lived in Fraser, so Taub called the home phone number and left a message.
Taub said she received a phone call that night from the mother of the woman who sent the letter who informed Taub that her daughter was not married and is a student at the University of Michigan.
The woman who sent the letter explained to Taub that she had recently finished an internship with the Oakland County Democratic Party in Bingham Farms, Taub said. The woman said she and two other interns were given sample letters and told to modify them, change the return address and send them out, Taub said.
Other Republican Commissioners get duped by ScamAnother County Commissioner Sue Ann Douglas, comments in a Guest Editorial in the Oakland County Press "Bogus Letter prompts Commissioner's response" July 30:
An employee of The Oakland County Democratic Party instructed interns to send several bogus letters to commissioners claiming that they were in dire need of health care. Those who decided to send Shelley Taub a letter pleading for help certainly did not know her well.
Shelley would work day and night to find help for a constituent with a sick child, and she immediately tried to contact the young lady who was pleading for help. She discovered that the young lady lived in Macomb County, did not have a child, and the return address on the envelope belonged to an unknowing West Bloomfield Township resident.

On behalf of the undersigned organizations, we write to express our support for the confirmation of Judge Sonia Sotomayor as Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. In her seventeen years of service to date as a federal trial and appellate judge, and throughout the course of her entire career, Judge Sotomayor has strongly distinguished herself through her outstanding intellectual credentials and her deep respect for the rule of law, establishing herself beyond question as fully qualified and ready to serve on the Supreme Court.
Judge Sotomayor will be an impartial, thoughtful, and highly-respected addition to the Supreme Court. Her unique personal background is compelling, and will be both a tremendous asset to her on the Court and a historic inspiration to others. Her legal career further demonstrates her qualifications to serve on our nation’s highest court. After graduating from Yale Law School, where she served as an editor of the Yale Law Journal, Judge Sotomayor spent five years as a criminal prosecutor in Manhattan. She then spent eight years as a corporate litigator with the firm of Pavia & Harcourt, where she gained expertise in a wide range of civil law areas such as contracts and intellectual property. In 1992, on the bipartisan recommendation of her home-state Senators, President George H.W. Bush appointed her District Judge for the Southern District of New York. In recognition of her outstanding record as a trial judge, President Bill Clinton elevated her to the U.S. Court of Appeals in 1998.
During her long tenure on the federal judiciary, Judge Sotomayor has participated in thousands of cases, and has authored approximately 400 opinions at the appellate level. She has demonstrated a thorough understanding of a wide range of highly complicated legal issues, and has a strong reputation for deciding cases based upon the careful application of the law to the facts of cases. Her record and her inspiring personal story indicate that she understands the judiciary’s role in protecting the rights of all Americans, in ensuring equal justice, and in respecting our constitutional values – all within the confines of the law. Moreover, her wellreasoned and pragmatic approach to cases will allow litigants to feel, regardless of the outcome, that they were given a fair day in court.
Given her stellar record and her reputation for fairness, Judge Sotomayor has garnered broad support across partisan and ideological lines, earning glowing praise from colleagues in the judiciary, law enforcement community, academia, and legal profession who know her best. Her Second Circuit colleague (and also her former law professor) Judge Guido Calabresi describes her as “a marvelous, powerful, profoundly decent person. Very popular on the court because she listens, convinces and can be convinced — always by good legal argument. She’s changed my mind, not an insignificant number of times.” Judge Calabresi also discredited concerns about Judge Sotomayor’s bench manner, explaining that he compared the substance and tone of her questions with those of his male colleagues and his own questions: “And I must say I found no difference at all.” Judge Sotomayor’s colleague Judge Roger Miner, speaking of her ideology, argued that “I don’t think I’d go as far as to classify her in one camp or another. I think she just deserves the classification of outstanding judge.” And New York District Attorney Robert Morgenthau, her first employer out of law school, hailed her for possessing “the wisdom, intelligence, collegiality, and good character needed to fill the position for which she has been nominated.”
The undersigned organizations urge you not to be swayed by the efforts of a small number of ideological extremists to tarnish Judge Sotomayor’s outstanding reputation as a jurist. These efforts have included blatant mischaracterizations of a handful of her rulings, as well as efforts to smear her as a racist based largely on one line in a speech that critics have taken out of context from the rest of her remarks. The simple fact is that after serving seventeen years on the federal judiciary to date, she has not exhibited any credible evidence whatsoever of having an ideological agenda, and certainly not a racist one. We hope that your committee will strongly reject the efforts at character assassination that have taken place since her nomination.
In short, Judge Sotomayor has an incredibly compelling personal story and a deep respect for the Constitution and the rule of law. Her long and rich experiences as a prosecutor, litigator, and judge match or even exceed those of any of the Justices currently sitting on the Court. Furthermore, she is fair-minded and ethical, and delivers thoughtful rulings in cases that are based upon their merits. For these reasons, the undersigned organizations strongly urge you to vote to confirm Judge Sotomayor. As you may have heard by now, the United States Speaker of the House, the number two most powerful elected federal official, Nancy Pelosi, has accused the protesters at Democrat healthcare town halls of carrying swastikas:
Interviewer: Do you think there’s legitimate grassroot opposition going on here?
Pelosi: "I think they’re Astroturf… You be the judge. "They’re carrying swastikas and symbols like that to a town meeting on healthcare."
Of course her mistake may be understandable, especially in view of Mr. Obama’s latest logo for his healthcare program:
And it has been suggested that receiving Botox injections can cause blurry vision.
Of course given that she was talking about Democrat town halls, her confusion is even more understandable given the overlap between Nazi programs and Democrats’ pet issues anyway, as we all know.
The Nazis being: against big banks and capitalism in general, against big department stores, against pollution, for two years mandatory voluntary service to the country, for make-work projects (such as the autobahn), against vivisection and cruelty and to animals, against smoking and all tobacco products, for abortion and euthanasia of the infirm and undesirable – and, of course, for cradle-to-grave nationalized healthcare.
In fact, if you look really hard, you can sometimes even find a hint of anti-Semitism in the Democrat Party.
The nation's largest federation of labor organizations has promised to directly engage with boisterous conservative protesters at Democratic town halls during the August recess.More... Paul in Houston adds this:
In a memo sent out on Thursday, AFL-CIO President John Sweeney outlined the blueprint for how the union conglomerate would step up recess activities on health care reform and other topics pertinent to the labor community. The document makes clear that Obama allies view the town hall forums as ground zero of the health care debate. It also uses the specter of the infamous 2000 recount "Brooks Brothers" protest to rally its members to the administration's side.
"The principal battleground in the campaign will be town hall meetings and other gatherings with members of Congress in their home districts," reads the memo. "We want your help to organize major union participation to counter the right-wing "Tea-Party Patriots" who will try to disrupt those meetings, as they've been trying to do to meetings for the last month. ...
(Remember the hooligans - many of them Republican Congressional staff - who harassed Florida vote counters in 2000? We can't let that happen again!)."
A showdown between unions and grassroots conservative organizations could make for an August full of fireworks, with even more dysfunctional town hall meetings. The AFL-CIO is planning to target 50 "high priority districts," in addition to organizing telephone town hall gatherings.
If they're going to pull THIS crap, I strongly recommend documenting (with video, as much as possible) all of the occurrences you can, and then going viral with it.Agreed.

He spoke to the Post-Dispatch from the emergency room of the St. John's Mercy Medical Center, where he said he was waiting to be treated for injuries to his knee, back, elbow, shoulder and face that he suffered in the attack. Gladney, who is black, said one of his attackers, also a black man, used a racial slur against him before the attack started.
It just seems there's no freedom of speech without being attacked, he said.

The more I think about Boxer’s (my Senator’s!) comments about protesters, the more angry I get about it. My husband and I are struggling to hold on to jobs in a state which should offer a model of everything that is wrong with socialist policies. I prefer to ignore politics. I never donated to a campaign before I donated small amounts to Sarah Palin, at real sacrifice. I’ve never been to a town hall meeting or political protest, but I definitely am one of those eager to go now. And my elected representative has the gall to dismiss my concerns as the self-interest of paid lobbyists!
Speaking of Palin, it makes me feel the same way that the vilification of Sarah Palin does, since I identify with her so much: To see what the elites really think of me. That goes both ways. I no longer patronize the media sources who did that, and I really don’t have to put up with it from my elected representatives.
