I don't know about a civil war. But, if the government starts rounding up people for 'resettlement', there are people in this country that would shoot first. We've seen instances in the past - Randy Weaver, Waco, etc. and all of this was predicated on some pretext of a legal wrong (BATF, mostly). Until now, these acts have been mainly done by LE connected to the Justice Department. When they have to round up so many, they're gonna need more help...from where? ACORN?, CityYear? Obama's Civilian Defense Force? They'll start with the military, at least certain portions of it. If roundups start in earnest, some are bound to start shooting. Whether or not you call it civil war, I don't know.

It usually is preceded by a demonizing of the target. Weaver made enemies by criticizing the local sheriff in letters to the editor and ticked off a neighbor by allowing his kids to play with Nazi armbands on their arms.

Koresh was flying a Star of David flag. I can still remember the ADL lawyers whining on CNN about Koresh saying “he is stockpiling weapons and is a danger to his neighbors”. To my knowledge they never mentioned the flag, the real bone of their contention.

It is real easy to get on a “haters” list. Heck even a post on FR might do it. At my age I don’t give a sh!t. I don’t hate anybody and my friends and relatives know it, that is good enough for me! On the other hand I don’t trust everyone, even if they do have Harvard degrees.
