The president shouldnt worry about the protestors disrupting town hall meetings. He should worry about the Americans who have been sitting at home listening to him.
It didnt take chaotic town-hall meetings, raging demonstrators and consequent brooding in various sectors of the media to bring home the truth that the campaign for a health-care bill is, to put it mildly, not going awfully well. Its not hard now to envision the state of this crusade with just a month or two more of diligent management by the Obama teamthink train wreck. It may one day be otherwise in the more perfect world of universal coverage, but for now disabilities like the tone deafness that afflicts this administration from the top down are uninsurable.

It took this battle over health care to reveal the bloom coming off this rose, but that was coming. It began with the spectacle of the president, impelled to go abroad to apologize for his nationrepeatedly. It is not, in the end, the demonstrators in those town-hall meetings or the agitations of his political enemies that Mr. Obama should fear. It is the judgment of those Americans who have been sitting quietly in their homes, listening to him.

Not hard to see how she is one of the WSJ’s top journalists.
She deserves much of the credit for putting the brakes on the “satanic child abuse” mania that gripped parts of the country 15 years ago, and sent a number of innocent people to prison for what were effectively life terms. Her reporting was directly responsible for freeing at least one person, possibly more.
She is honest, clear-thinking, and very courageous.
BRAAAA-VOOOOOE! I’ve been thinking it for a while. It may be time to renew my subscription to the WSJ.
McMartin Pre-School? 1987. Time flies. ;-)
Fantastic piece. Thanks for posting.

You are welcome, Rocko.
Dorothy Rabinowitz was involved with the Amirault case in Massachusetts, and the Wee Care case in Maplewood, NJ. She first became involved with the latter as a TV news reporter for WWOR, which is a small-fry "local" in a market dominated by giants. According to the Wikipedia article on her, she also reported on the Wenatchee WA mass-sex-abuse prosecution.
0bozo = Dumb @ssphat. Looks like his socialist-fascist-commie pig Health Care (un)Reform debacle is causing him to sweat profusely now!!!

The WSJ is the best paper in the country - maybe the world.
You can read a synopsis of an issue in a short paragraph, that would take two pages of ink in the NYT.
Yes, they have some incredible journalistic talent. Friday’s articles by Kimberly Straussel come to mind. Succinct. probing, analytical, spot on!
For, despite a great election victory, Mr. Obama, it becomes ever clearer, knows little about Americans. He knows the crowdshe is at home with those. He is a stranger to the countrys heart and character.
Seriously, how can a man serve as POTUS, keep his past a secret, talk out of both sides of his mouth and still expect Americans to buy the bill of goods [aka health care reform]he’s selling? We’re supposed to believe that if we throw enough money at a problem [bankrupt the country] it will miraculously go away? If Obama had the common sense the good Lord gave a Jack ***, he’d abandon ship. He can’t shovel this load of manure fast enough to block the stench. This ship is sinking...fast!
