An ad campaign featured on a U.S. Army website seeking those who would be interested in being an "Internment/Resettlement" specialist is raising alarms across the country, generating concerns that there is some truth in those theories about domestic detention camps, a roundup of dissidents and a crackdown on "threatening" conservatives. The ads, at the GoArmy.com website as well as others including Monster.com, cite the need for: "Internment/Resettlement (I/R) Specialists in the Army are primarily responsible for day-to-day operations in a military confinement/correctional facility or detention/internment facility. I/R Specialists provide rehabilitative, health, welfare, and security to U.S. military prisoners within a confinement or correctional facility; conduct inspections; prepare written reports; and coordinate activities of prisoners/internees and staff personnel. snip But Thompson noted that the report also targeted as "potential terrorists" Americans who: Oppose abortion Oppose same-sex marriage Oppose restrictions on firearms Oppose lax immigration laws Oppose the policies of President Obama regarding immigration, citizenship, and the expansion of social programs Oppose continuation of free trade agreements Are suspect of foreign regimes Fear Communist regimes Oppose a "one world" government Bemoan the decline of U.S. stature in the world Are upset with loss of U.S. manufacturing jobs to China and India, and more Thompson told WND no apology has been offered to the members of any of those classes of citizens. Thompson said the original "extremism" report was "the tip of the iceberg. … Conservative Americans should be very outraged."

I would think that our troops would be trained for this sort of job normally, that’s why I wondered how new the ad was. Perhaps WND didn’t ask the right person when they denied knowing anything about it. However, with this administration anything is possible.

Think just for a moment about the “civil service” that he wants our youth to have to take. Think that every kid from 18-25 will have to do three months in a training camp. As any “federal employee” must do, they would have to take an oath. An enforceable oath. Further down the road, if those kids step out of line (and who would be the most likely dissenters to a mass draft or mobilization?) they could be held for failing to uphold their loyalty oath.

“training” or drafting as you refer to is specifically mentioned in the “standard” state sovereignty resolutions.

If you’re worried, move to a state that has passed one of these. Oklahoma recently did so.

Because they get tired of having a shortage of 95C "charlies" (31C used to be called 95C until 2006) like they had in Vietnam, we have interred about 50,000 people in this current war on terror.

“Security staffing of the facilities with improperly trained military police also posed a major problem. The MP Corps in Vietnam severely lacked the needed number of personnel trained as MOS 95C Correction Specialist. The temporary fix was to pull line duty MPs trained as MOS 95Bs Military Policeman, from field units and assign them to the facilities creating major disruptions in the ability for their parent units to perform their missions. In 1971 to address the problem at DHAC the 18th MP Brigade reassigned the 300th MP Company (95th MP Battalion) from line duty to correction duty at the DAHC.”
