When I said I noodled around the Guardian site and found no mention of Islam, I meant that I had searched for the Beslan story, found copious links and stories and slideshows and analysis, seen the words terrorist, and Chechens, but no description beyond.

Thanks, got more out of that link sent in just a couple minutes.
