A shocking and disturbing video that is now making its way across the internet has captured the attention of the Hanford Police Department.

The six minute video shows a karate instructor ordering a student to beat and possibly kill a mentally challenged man.

"It is such a disturbing video and whether it's real or not that still needs to be confirmed," said Hanford Police Chief Carlos Mestas.

Chief Mestas says his department is assisting in the investigation of a possible crime committed 25 years ago in the state of Virginia.

If it happened 25 years ago, the statute of limitations has probably expired as long as nobody died as a result of the crime.

Actually the poor guy got a few good licks in but as he “wasn’t a fighter” or had a real killer instinct that’s what did him in. He actually knocked the black belt guy down and was very good defensively. The black belt guy realized he had to ratchet up or be beat up by the victim.

The dojo leader was very wrong to have let that incident happen and was not honorable. On the other hand perhaps the “mentally challenged man” needed to learn what God was really trying to teach him!

While I support the condemnation of those that participated as all being mentally challenged, let's not lose sight of the fact that in all probability the statue of limitations has long since expired. We should not jump the gun in prosecuting anyone until the facts are known. In a similar vein, we had massive video evidence of brutal attacks during the “rioting” post Rodney king verdict. Did anyone ever investigate or file charges in those incidents?

I didn't see anything to indicate the "tenth level red belt" guy was "mentally challenged".

I just saw a cocky guy get a butt whoopin'.

Unless perhaps, an investigation can produce evidence of murder. IANAL, but I seem to recall that there is no statute of limitations on murder. We’ll see what happens.

Digging around the net, I found a (72 pages, as of now) long thread on the subject of this video, at what appears to be a martial arts forum.

http://www.bullshido.net/forums/showthread.php?t=88535

On page 72 is a TV news broadcast of interest. Law enforcement is investigating, and the newsies are pounding on Blythe’s door.

WARNING: It really is difficult to watch.

Wasn't quite that bad. Looks like the dude got knocked out and had his nose broken. He was probably up and about after a few minutes.

Most interesting thing to me about this video was that when it was filmed, the internet (as we know it) was still about ten years away and "viral videos" another decade after that. The people filming and participating in this probably could never envision that this video would someday be watched by countless people and commented on.

Makes me think of some of the crazy college parties I went to where someone had one of those old camcorders (the kind that accepted full-size VHS tapes). Email was just starting to surface and web browsing was still a few years away. We filmed some wild parties just to re-watch the debauchery amongst ourselves. I sure hope those old tapes are long gone!

I hope for your sake they are. But most likely they have been transferred to DVD and posted on U-Tube.

This is a cautionary tale for everyone. What used to be considered youthful indiscretions now hang around forever. If you allow people to photograph or tape you doing something shameful it will probably end up on the Internet. Then it will be easily down loadable by potential employers, future in-laws and any sort of rival or enemy.

I hope that you seriously rethink your 11:39 posting.

First of all, I hope tis ideo is a fake. But if not...

Did you actually see the video? Listen to what the victim was saying. He was obviously mentally ill.

So even if the victim consented to a full contact fight - which he did not - such consent would be much like that a consent given by a 10-year-old child.

Furthermore, the victim clearly asks for the fight to stop not once but at least three times. Yet he is still kicked to the head numerous once he is down.

The victim posed no threat to the attacker, especially at the end. And the kicking continued. No honorable person can possibly defend this.

Do you still think this is just “cocky guy get a butt whoopin’”? If so, perhaps you should consider seeking out a cocky 10-year-old child, get his consent to fight you, then beat him down.

Then just sit back and wait for the admiring public to adore your manly behavior.

Did you see those stomps to the head at the end? Did you hear the blood gurgling in his throat? As the police chief said, if he lived thorugh that he probably had some serious brain damage.

I seriously doubt that. He probably got up and staggered home.

“Proceed, Grasshopper, beat the sh!t out of the retard”....naw, that just doesn’t sound right.

I don’t really see the “mentally challenged” part, though. “Jesus is my master,” was that it?

Stomping on the guy’s head was nasty. All in all, looked more like a street brawl than martial art combat.

Nope.

Listen to what the victim was saying. He was obviously mentally ill.

Says he is a "tenth degree red belt" and "has no master but Jesus Christ".
That bespeaks cockiness, not mental illness.

Furthermore, the victim clearly asks for the fight to stop not once but at least three times.

He was doing pretty good at first.

The victim posed no threat to the attacker, especially at the end. And the kicking continued.

This can happen when your mouth writes a check your butt can't cash.

Do you still think this is just “cocky guy get a butt whoopin’”?

Yep.

Have a good weekend!

HG, I’m 35 pages into the link provided in post 10. After the head stomping they threw the guy into a dumpster. The “blackbelt” and “Sensai” (who posted this and several other videos, himself) are both named and tracked down. There is also a question if the victim even survived, in another words, this would be a snuff flick posted by the psychopath on YouTube as a trophy.

You have some issues, bro. Issues that’ll probably end with your incarceration, if they haven’t already.

Have a good weekend.
