“And we found birth records in the newspapers in Hawaii that couldnt possibly have been forged. “
If he had any understanding on how those announcements get into the newspapers, he’d know that this is a B.S. excuse. No one is saying that the announcements were “forged”....suspect is the information used at the time to trigger them.
I'm seeing this tactic a lot nowadays and I think it's relatively new. Someone says something like "The information in these newspaper announcements is not convincing" and the response is "Listen, we know these are not forgeries. It's ridiculous to claim that they are. Clearly, our opponents are desperate to even bring up the claim that these are forgeries."
Huh?
Robert Gibbs does this a lot on a variety of topics. "Do you purge the email?" "Listen, how many times do I have to tell you people -- we are not keeping an enemies list!"
Huh??
It's an awkward and obvious change in the subject, but I swear most people don't seem to register it.
