Awww, but we can eat in chains anywhere. I was hoping somebody might have a suggestion for a place serving authentic native Conrovian fare so the more adventurous among us can sample the exotic local delicacies - blackened pine cones, perhaps? ;-)

Hmmm. Speaking of which: Are Conroe Texans Conrovians? Conroeites? What?

I’m not sure I can consider Conroe a real restaurant town but if you go west on 105 (aka Davis) about 5 minutes west of I-45 there is a local place on the left side (south side) of 105. Good food, lots of tables I like and if you leave hungry it is you’re own darn fault.

Veron’s Kuntry Katfish

What are residents of Conroe called?

Either Rednecks or Commuters.

My Brooks Bros. suit is at the cleaners, but I plan to attend anyway.
Unfortunately, the blackened pine cones are out of season. Vernon’s Kuntry Catfish is a good choice for catfish and hushpuppies. I’m partial to Margarita’s for Mexican food, off of 336 east of I-45.
