Democrats: Never Let a Funeral Service go to Waste
Flopping Aces ^ | 08-29-09 | Aye Chihuahua

Unbelievable.

I watched it three times and still cannot believe what I saw and heard.

Roll the tape:

These people are shameless. Absolutely shameless. You would think that after the Paul Wellstone memorial went so far off the tracks that they would have learned. Seems that isn't so. Rush said last week that the services for Uncle Teddy would be a spectacle to behold because the Democrats cannot help themselves.

Once again, Rush was right.

As Allah at Hot Air said:

Enter this poor little boy, charged with politicizing a prayer because the gutless pols around him didn’t have the balls to do it themselves.

::snip::

Exit question: Anyone have any young’uns at home they’d be willing to volunteer to lead prayers at the next big GOP funeral? We might as well make use of the camera time while we have it. “Dear god, please grant us the strength to privatize social security and construct a robust missile defense shield. We pray to the Lord.”

Here's a news flash for the Democrats: The cold, dead corpse of a Democrat Senator doesn't transform a bad idea into a good one.

That is shameless! But no surprise. I recall some of the 2004 DNC shenanigans in which young children were paraded up on the stage and given politically charged things to say.

I actually couldn’t bear to watch it, as I knew what had happened at the Wellstone and Corretta Scott King events.

Best,

Chris

So, when do the Senate canonization hearings for Red Ted start? I don’t think those flatulent buffoons on Capitol Hill will think that there is anything wrong with forcing a new saint on the Catholic Church. If the church doesn’t like it, they’ll just send the IRS after them.

Democrats: Never Let a Funeral Service go to Waste>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

They should be careful what they wish for.

I sure as hell wouldn't let one of their funerals go to waste.

Celebration is an elegant pastime, and maybe best served cold.

Liberals have absolutely NO shame. Anything to promote their DeathCare. They think that by doing this people will say “YAY” to DeathCare, because it is what Ted Kennedy would have wanted. Please, he was just one person, he wanted it, good for him, doesn’t mean we have to suffer the consequences of having this crap passed because it would have made him happy. And using children, what a shock..reminds me of the kid that was used at Obama’s Infomercial in New Hampshire “How come people are holding signs outside saying mean things about healthcare?” They will stoop to any level

The kid’s speech was politicised, the ‘prayer’ was politicised, the ‘letter to his holiness’ was a political message- the whoel htign was nothign but a shameless political attempt to get universal healthcare passed- never midn that had Teddy been forced to be on universal health carethat he WOULD NOT have survived as long as he did- but meh- let hte peasants eat cake- we’re nothign but useless bread-gobblers in their m inds

[[Please, he was just one person, he wanted it,]]

Nah- he wanted it for the peasants, not for the elites like him- but you’re right- dolts arouidn the country will go “Gosh- We shoudl do this in ‘honor’ of Ted- because he ‘was a great man’ after all, and deserves to have a living legacy to his name”

This reminds me of a scene in a book by John
Steinbeck I read in High School. It was called “In Dubious Battle” about the early communist agitators using one of their friends to stir up pity...he’s shot in the face, and they prop him up in the back of a truck and parade him around for display to the workers, to be incited to fight. The ends justify the means, the people must be manipulated for their own good...

It's enough to make decent Americans want to puke!

The little Dutch boy was cute. Cut his hair you liberal pansy!

“great tag line potential!

At the end of the Flopping Aces post, there was the nub of exactly that.

Since the liberals want to change the health care bill from Obamacare to something associated with Ted Kennedy, it should be renamed to Mary Jo Kopechne care and follow Ted’s example, “do nothing and let it die.”

“”....it as LIGHTENING in Virginia””

I expected lightning to strike the church in Boston this morning - it must have been delayed. I did see some lightning in the sky at Arlington and thought “WOW” - not too late!

It strikes me how similar this is to Hitler's use of the the corpses of the "martyrs" of his movement.

It's politics, not war. But the principle is the same: they're using their own children as human shields.

One of those boys, with the longer hair, reminded me of Giuliani’s boy long ago hamming around at his inauguration -
he was squirming around and cavorting in every shot I saw him in the past couple days, like an ADHD billboard, and old enough to behave better.

Such offertory prayers for intercession at any mass, and even funeral masses are against Catholic Church protocols. You can’t use them for personalized messages and especially for political actions.

That the pastor/celebrant/bishop allowed such sacreligious distortion of a prayerful moment is a disgrace.

The man should not have even been allowed a funeral mass. So many Catholics have been denied a Catholic burial for issues like divorces, scandalous public behavior, public advocacy of grave and serious sins, destruction of the character and reputation of others. This man was allowed to get away with all that and now be celebrated for a noble and holy life that was none of the above.

Teddy Kennedy escaped accountability in this life for both his personal and his moral failings. His next judgment will not be at the hands of a compliant press, a pandering clergy, a tribal electorate, or an exculpating politic.
He made need a Robert Bork.
