Did you miss the post about Rev. Wright in #4, i.e., the phrase “Jeremiah Wright clone?” If that’s not implying racism or hate, what’s it implying?

I interpreted it to imply that both pastors are equally deranged, nuts and worthy of disdain. The Christianity I know doesn't pray for the death of individuals -- it prays for the enlightenment of the wicked, or their downfall from power -- not their physical death.

Do you disagree?

That's something I'll consider. I take it that enlightenment of the wicked is what's recommended in the Bible, then.

I only recently started going to church again (when I went off to college in 1993, I stopped going, unfortunately), but I now have a renewed interest in the Bible and Christianity.

It's also unfortunate that when I did go to church in the late 80s to early 90s, I goofed off when in Sunday School and Bible Study and, as a result, don't remember much.

My favorite (and most personally applicable) Old Testament entry would be - hands-down - Book of Job. That's really the only chapter I've read from start to finish - and many more times than just once. And Matthew is the only New Testament book I've read (and enjoy very much), so I've got some serious catching up to do.
