Trying to bring his poll numbers up by Deflection. He is getting hammered on Obama/Kennedy Care as well as Cap and Trade. The more the American people find out about these, the less they like.
Oh, and he is in trouble on the Stimulus. Sitting on all those billions with folks unemployed like this does not look good.

When a prez’s main policiy projects are failing miserably, they invariably go for a middle east peace plan to change the subject and hope for a hail-mary boost in popularity. See Carter, Clintoon, Bush I, Bush II, and The One. (Did not need to mention Ronald the Great).

Why on earth is Bib doing this? Obama has no power to hurt Israel--Congress would block him; Harry Reid already warned him against it. And now Obama's poll numbers are tanking and he is headed for a 2010 electoral spanking.
So why on earth is Bibi suspending settlement construction? why on earth is he agreeing to this absurd meeting, which can serve no purpose except to bolster the dropping polls of Obama?

Why did Bibi cave in at the Wye River accords? Why did he back down on promises he made to religious groups on Judea and Samaria?
Why did he pronounce a 9 month ban on new construction? Why is he tolerating state dept. spies all over Israel?
I have on possible answer- that he isn't the man some here think he is and he is about to cave in to this administration and get nothing in return. Just like he did with Klinton.
