In Connecticut, we have about 13 separate Mini Tea Parties throughout the state, one each day of the week for Mon thru Saturday, some days have 2, some days have as many as 3 per day!
Today in Cheshire, an Obama Health Care supporter drove by me and 62 other Patriots who were at the weekly Monday Tea Party in Cheshire, Connectuicut.
I respoded back to him, "NO, YOU'Re number one!"
He pulled his car around and pulled over to the side of the curb and angrily approached me, shouting out how angry he was that we were lying about Obama and the Health Care plan and how he was going to set me straight!
Well, knowing that Democrats are a violent bunch from personal experience and from the experience of others, and due to his aggressive nature and behaviour by jumping out of his car like he did, I immediately got on the phone and dilled 911.
The Cheshire Police answered and I explained how a man pulled over and got out of his car to confront me angrily, gave his car description and his license plate number. I also informed them that since I ignored the man and stepped away, he was walking back to his car, only when he realized I was on the phone to the Police, he spun around and insisted he confront me and that I debate him on health care!
I told the 911 Officer that he remained out of his car and was confronting me again and the officer heard me tell the man to stay away from me.
The Police were there within one minute and we were kept separated by the two officers who responded.
We each gave our side of the story, since I had 62 other people there, I had hope at least one heard me from across the street or next to me, but the ones on my side of the street didn't know anythign was going on until they heard me tell the man to stay away and saw the man standing there , arms crossed, staring at me acting angry, pacing, and heard me shout for him to stay away from me.
People across the street saw what happened but didnt hear it, except to say they had no idea why the guy seemed so angry. They did see him get out of his car, confront me and didn't hear me say anything but heard the guy all angry about something.
I was asked if I wanted to press charges and I responded by saying no, the guy just needed someone to tell him to grow up and go home!
However, when the Sgt showed up, they had a small conference and explained to me how this guy deserved the very least type of ticket for creating a disturbance. I again repeated that I was willing to let him go with a stern warning but to not arrest him since no one was injured, but the Sgt said that it would be in all our interests to cite the man due to him or anyone else doing this again!
So, the guy got a small ticket, got written up, cited for creating a disturbance type offense, and he drove off.
Violence was averted!
NOTE TO ALL FREEPERS AND TEA PARTY GOERS: I didnt have my video camera with me, but I did have my cell phone!
Make sure you have one or the other and someone is videotaping! This would have een boring video, not much to see, but it would be another video documentation of an Obama supporter disrupting an event and the Police citing THEM, not us!

I agree that witnesses, cell phones and video are all important.
The left wants desperately to catch one of us doing something stupid!

Exactly right! Never be reluctant to apply the level of restraint necessary to get an abusive person to cease their behavior.

I prefer the bigger man approach to these ne’er-do-wells. On the one hand, you should absolutely protect yourself from them, but on the other, you shoudn’t litigate them. It looks bad on us when we’re trying to get people to see the truth.

Excellent advice from one of the warriors on the front lines.
I believe the officers had good advice to write him a ticket (probably for Disorderly person) and creat a paper trail. He may attack someone else. He has no business interferring with your right to protest.
Very good instincts were at play on your part. However, I am concerned that no one noticed what was playing out right under their noses. Traffic noise, personal conversations and other covering sounds were probably at play.
Maybe we can each visually sweep the area around us every 30 seconds or so to look for not quite right situations. I am sure you would have felt much better if 10 or so other people trickled to your side while all of this was going down.
I find their facial reactions more precious when we greet them that way! LOL!

Thanks for your news presentation from the front lines of the tea party protests. Wednesday I will be up in Hartford for the gathering in area of the Sen.Dodd office and I have a cell phone with me. There will be other tea party people. Is also is getting ready for the big gathering for the tea party express gathering in Hartford the day before the D.C. gathering lending my support, be it inforamtion, speaking, getting the word out this week on Jim’s show ete.,.
