Officials say an explosion has killed Afghanistan's deputy chief of intelligence.
Sayed Ahmad Safi, the spokesman for the governor of Laghman province, says Dr. Abdullah Laghmani died in the blast. Laghmani is the No. 2 at Afghanistan's intelligence service, known as the National Directorate for Security.
A Taliban spokesman, Zabiullah Mujahid, tells The Associated Press that a suicide bomber had targeted Laghmani.
The blast occurred during the inauguration of a new mosque in the city of Mehterlam in Laghman — 60 miles (100 kilometers) east of Kabul.

“There was a suicide attack outside Mihtarlam mosque. There are a big number of civilian deaths. A number of government officials have also been killed,” interior ministry spokesman Zemarai Bashary said.
An official at the Afghan health ministry said at least 10 bodies had been brought into hospitals with 36 people wounded.
A spokesman for the provincial government put the death toll at 20.
This exposes Taliban weakness. They cannot even get close enough to kill a specific target through internal treachery or assasination targeting only the intended victim. Instead they have to bomb the entire area to maybe get the victim.
What will the WH attorneys do about this extensive collateral damage?
I wish we would just nuke the vermin. FDR or Truman would have done this years ago. With this mentality we would have invaded Japan and lost hundreds of thousands.
Sounds good, but not all Afghanis are vermin. It would have to be depleted uranium in say 20-25mm rounds in focused bursts at a known vermin or group of vermin.
Unless you have a flute that would lead the vermin of Afghanistan into a deep valley or large cave. Then we could simply nuke that area.

As Muslims, they understand best power and vengeance.
Tell the Taliban we will nuke a Taliban dominated city every time a bombing occurs. After we do it a few times, the Afghan population will turn the Taliban in for immediate execution.
Count on it happening.
