Lucas Wondra has accomplished something even many so called normal boys never accomplish. He became an Eagle Scout. Fortunately, he had that opportunity because his parents ignored the liberal bigots who don't believe babies with Down Syndrome should be allowed to be born. Will future babies with Down Syndrome have that opportunity under Obamacare or will they be aborted like the bigots want.

I was a Scout but not very ambitious. That a Down's Syndrome kid could achieve this changes my perception of Down's folks -- sweet people -- there's a younger Down's woman at the local theatre and frankly she's a far better greeter/ticket-taker than the too-often-surly teens working there and other local theatres.
There is more I could say but won't.

Thank you for posting this story!
And thanks to the Boy Scouts for figuring out ways to let this young man work hard for his Eagle! They are an A-number one organization -- we've been involved with them for years, my husband as a Scoutmaster and myself as a Venture Crew Advisor.

Lucas Wondra has accomplished something even many so called normal boys never accomplishA lot of "normal" boys should take notes from Lucas. Quit whining and DO.
Lucas showed more perserverance, guts, and ingenuity than I see in most of my "able-bodied" hires.
Bravo, young Lucas, bravo.

(Patrick Traylor/The Hutchinson News) Lucas Wondra, 16, makes the sign meaning Dad to his father, Korey Wondra, while looking through a scrapbook detailing some of his experiences in the Boy Scouts. Lucas, who has Down syndrome, recently earned his Eagle Scout rank after years of work with Hutchinson Troop 301.
Wow look at all those badges. Check out the goatee just like his Dad. Wonderful expression on his father's face. One should never ever ever doubt that the Good Lord creates every life for an important reason.

Contrast this kid’s accomplishments with Zero’s comments about bowling in the Special Olympics...
And this IS a child that many pro-abortionists wouldn’t want to be “punished” with.

As a Scoutmaster who will have 8 Scouts, including my own son, as “Eaglets” (Working on their Eagle Service Projects), I am pleased and proud of Lucas and his Troop, who are living the Scout Oath and Scout Law!

I earned my Eagle badge in 1992, and one of the proudest moments in my life was pinning my badge on my son in 2002. Congrats to Lucas. This is a wonderful story. Maybe some years from now, Lucas can pin his badge on his son.

As someone who never made it past First Class, all I can say is “Way to go LUCAS!” And good job to the rest of the scouts and leaders in the troop!

Lucas Wondra succeeded in obtaining the rank of Eagle Scout. This is a status the vast majority of Boy Scouts, myself included, never achieve. Despite remarkable achievements like this, people with Down Syndrome may well end up being the first class of human being the murderous eugenicists succeed in eliminating.

Major congratulations to you Lucas. You are now a part of the 2%. Your achievements humble me. As a scouter and proud father of two Eagles, I salute you.
