A caller into J. D. Hayworth’s show posited this a few weeks ago. It made perfect sense. I didn’t know until that call that it didn’t go into effect until 2013. Late enough that it doesn’t overly affect midterm elections because nothing will have changed regarding people’s health insurance (and hopefully they’ll forget about this past summer) and wouldn’t hurt Obama’s chances at re-election (or so he hopes).

Thomas Sowell is great and the cited article is great, but he isn’t a Stanford Professor. He has been a professor at other noted universities, but today he’s a fellow at the Hoover Institution The Hoover Institution is located on the Stanford campus, but it’t not actually a part of Stanford University.
