A march on Washington

Protest set on Democratic health care plan

The armies of "tea party" conservatives who packed town-hall meetings last month to oppose President Obama's $1 trillion government health care plan bring their protest movement to the Capitol on Saturday to urge its defeat.

Those who thought the hundreds of April 15 tax-day rallies across the country were a flash-in-the-pan phenomenon had better think again. This is a grass-roots movement that has been gathering strength ever since, fueled anew by pending bills in Congress to enact a historic expansion of the government's power over the nation's private health care system.

The tea party's march on Washington will come three days after Mr. Obama's speech before a joint session of Congress on Wednesday to rescue his trouble-plagued health care plans from a deeply divided Democratic majority in the House and Senate that threatens the centerpiece of his domestic agenda and perhaps the future of his presidency.

I sure hope some of the marchers take time out and visit their congressional clunkers. Just say hi, remember me?

Go to Washington, there is no excuse this time, none. This may be the last hope of avoiding a civil war.

Think of the hundreds of thousands of soldiers who have died protecting our freedoms, take a couple of days out of your lives and stand up!

There are over 14 million families living on unemployment and more unreported millions no longer even eligible for that....they can’t afford to go to D.C.

Me and my family, have so far, not lost jobs, insurance, home, etc...but we live within our means...but I go to D.C. to stand in for those who can’t and to stand up for my grandchildren’s future, and their descendants as well.......

Organizers say 25,000 to 50,000 demonstrators are expected to gather in Washington to demonstrate their opposition.

Better be 10 times that many or we are wasting our time. It is a financial sacrifice for me to go, but I will be there. I will have to take pain killers and other meds in order to drive to the airport and fly to DC, but I will be there. If 500,000 people can't turn out for this, well no wonder the country is in the crapper.

When opponents label us “tea baggers”, are they really saying that something is deeply wrong about homosexuality?

Does anyone have an opinion on what it will be like to drive in to DC on the morning of 9/12 and park?

That’s the spirit! We will prevail if we stand up...the other side is fighting for handouts...we are fighting for freedom! We MUST prevail, there is no option for failure.

>This may be the last hope of avoiding a civil war.

Perhaps. However would avoiding such a civil war be the best thing? (that is, would your council be “avoid a civil war” if it meant [permanently] surrendering liberties to do so?)

I remember this verse which says “without the shedding of blood there can be no remission of sins” and that certainly appears to be the case of not only individuals, but nations/societies as well. Jesus of course paid the debt for those sins, but that REQUIRES the humility to realize the you NEED Him to pay and therefore accept His payment, otherwise the sin is “on your own hands” so to speak; and given that our leaders say “America is no longer a Christian country” or most certainly act in manners indicating no belief in God then it becomes evident that they are only setting themselves up for an “Epic Fail”...
if not at the hands of We the People, then at the hands of foreign powers, or perhaps “Divine Retribution” (like Herod who, when the people cried “[he speaks with] the voice of a god!” did not rebuke them, was struck down by God).

A note to all the marchers:

Remembber, there are plenty of politicians in Washington,
and there’s a lamp post for each one.

There better be more than 25,000-50,000. We had 18,000 at a tea party in West Chester, Ohio on Saturday.

I do not in any sense of the word mean to surrender to the slavery of socialism or fascism. I mean that in order to avoid the violent civil war we need to beat the opposition here...now by show of force. They will back down...they are fighting for handouts...we are fighting for freedom.

You may be interested in knowing that I will be carrying a Christian flag to remind the Little Dictator and his minions that indeed, this is a Christian nation. I carried it at the Chicago Tea Party on April 15th and will carry it to every Tea Party till we win.

I believe we can avoid God’s wrath, but we must stand up now to do so.

Driving into DC on any morning is a bad idea.

Road closures, one-way streets, police motorcades, AND NO PARKING ANYWHERE.

I woluld suggest METRO (subway). It’s clean, safe, and will get you within a couple blocks of the event.

If you run into problems figuring out a
place to board/park, just add another comment to this thread.

C’ya there

Park at a Metro in Alexandria or another outlying place and take the Metro to the Mall.
