Now there's a report on Drudge from USA today about some sort of audio that had the comment The Coast Guard speaker is heard saying; "Slow down or you will be fired on."

From the sound of it, no notice was broadcast. If it was, they can release the tape with time and information sent out. If this was a training exercise, poor choice of date and time to perform it.

We are having rain storms here in DC today, so the power going off could have been a concidence, but the timing of the electricity going off is totally suspect and coincides with the timing of the “incident” perfectly.

Yep, lots of stuff happening REALLY fast around “here” in recent times... I’m not liking the intuitive feelings I’m having right now, I’ll tell you that much. Things are definitely racheting up, or as you put it — some clock here is ticking although I don’t know what is coming... I would agree with that. Awful coincidental indeed. I know some areas have a lot of problems with nearly every storm. Does your area generally lose power in those cases, and how heavy is that rain you’re getting? Any lightning and such? Strong winds?

Agreed. I had my “Fox News Live” desktop player open and there was a “breaking news alert” but when I clicked onto it, the feed never came through - just a still picture of the bridge and the river. Very strange.

Timing definitely suspect. And why halt flights? And who reported 10 shots? I can understand someone maybe misheard a shot or two... but 10?

Coast Guard spokesman John Edwards said references to shots fired were picked up in radio chatter. As part of its exercise Friday, the Coast Guard aired simulated instructions to participants to fire 10 rounds. But Edwards said there were no shots actually fired and there were no suspicious boats.
