I couldn’t because I started my H & R Block tax preparer course today, also filled with immigrants. Out of 10 students 4 or 5 (not sure about one gal) were definately foreign born. Two Oriental gals (one definately from China, the other I’m not sure) One Russian, one Romanian, and the Dominican gal I’m not sure if she was born here or in DR. Only one guy out of the ten students, so that was noteworthy.
I have to say the immigrant spirit lives, the Romanian woman was an accountant in the old country, but the rest have no particular training. I doubt I’d move to a foreign land and start learning their tax laws!

On the way over on the Sheraton Shuttle to the Metro from the FR Convention, Kristinn was telling us that the original idea was for folks to find their State Flags and march with that group. At that point (about 10:30 am) he said that the crowd had gotten so large that they were abandoning that idea, so just jump into the March! We arrived at the Federal Triangle metro station, around 11am, watched the March for a bit, then got in what we thought was near the end of the line. We marched up the Avenue, then jumped out for 15 mins. or so for a potty break at the Natl. Gallery of Art. When we got back to the March, there were STILL folks as far as the eye could see in both directions on Pennsylvania Ave, so folks were still coming, well into the Noon hour.
