Congressman Boehner filmed the following video discussing his new legislation – the Defund ACORN Act (H.R. 3571) – which is designed to cut off all taxpayer funding to ACORN. Watch Boehner here:
An analysis of federal data by the Office of the Republican Leader staff determined that ACORN has received more than $53 million in direct funding from the federal government since 1994 – not counting all they’ve received indirectly through states and localities that receive federal block grants.
That’s why Boehner and his colleagues have also sent a letter to President Obama asking him to use his authority to end all funding to and break all government ties with ACORN. The letter is similar to letters Boehner sent last year to President Bush and then-Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Steven Preston requesting that they block funding to ACORN.
Boehner says:
“It is evident that ACORN is incapable of using federal funds in a manner that is consistent with the law. Immediate action is necessary to ensure that no additional tax dollars are directed to ACORN. Simply put, ACORN should not receive another penny of American taxpayers’ money.”
It is time to investigate anyone that has ever benefited form the activities of ACORN. Hmmm, can anyone think of any presidents in recent history that may be coming to mind now?
Dear heavens! I read the headline as: “BOEHNER BULLETIN: It’s Time to ‘DEFEND’ ACORN Now” and I about had a stroke!
Have to slow down my reading sometimes. When I first read the thread title saw “defend” instead of “defund”.
This needs to be the Saturday address to the nation by Republicans.
at first I thought that headline said “It’s Time to DEFEND ACORN Now” (you can never really tell with these inside-the-beltway RINOS)

Yeah, those whack jobs from FreeRepublic and talk radio have been saying this for about two years. Welcome to the battle Mr. Boehner. Thanks for picking up a rifle. Now please don't just sit in your fox hole and shout, you must use your weapon to its useful conclusion of depriving the enemy (ACORN) of life.
When I typed the original address, I typed Defend instead of Defund and went OOPS! Glad I caught my mistake instantly but now I know I am not the only one that needs to slow down reading and typing. :)
Defund ACORN/COI and remove them from approved vendor list or whatever it’s called.

If there is a way to justify their behavior, I don't want to live long enough to see it. I can honestly say my stomach turned watching those two creeps.
I’d like to know how many ACORN-counseled homes are part of the housing collapse..
I’ll be calling my Congressman (Sestak) but he may not be in. Although I detest the man, his father passed away this week and I will give him that courtesy and extend my sympathies at this time.
