EPA scraps Bush-era smog rule and will start over

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Obama administration signaled Wednesday that it would scrap a controversial Bush-era rule that set stricter limits for smog but fell short of scientific recommendations.

In a notice filed Wednesday in a federal appeals court, the Justice Department says there are concerns that the revision made by the Bush administration does not adhere to federal air pollution law. The Environmental Protection Agency will propose revised smog standards to protect health and the environment in late December.

"This is one of the most important protection measures we can take to safeguard our health and our environment," said EPA Administrator Lisa P. Jackson in a statement. "Reconsidering these standards and ensuring acceptable levels of ground-level ozone could cut health care costs and make our cities healthier, safer places to live, work and play."

And more of the would-be-soaked rich will go to China where they don’t worry about any of that stuff.

Just another brick in the wall...

I have to say this is probably one of the most ambitious administrations ever... unfortunately, every decision has gone the wrong way.

Wouldn’t it be funny if the EPA’s science said to worry even less?

“Wouldn’t it be funny if the EPA’s science said to worry even less?”

It already does. But whatever the science says is unimportant. The cover sheet will claim dire consequences requiring draconian regulations no matter what the truth is. This is normal for “science” today.

Wonder how much Carol Browner had to do with this...? A lot. She’s the Czar of E.P.A. and Energy.....

EPA Administrator Lisa P. Jackson in a statement. "Reconsidering these standards and ensuring acceptable levels of ground-level ozone could cut health care costs and make our cities healthier, safer places to live, work and play."

You fricken ditz. Smog (ozone) 'in the cities' is the least of the problems.

Thanks to Black & Hispanic Gangsters people "in our cities" are dieing left and right from Lead poisoning (Bullets), and your BIG worry is a faulty muffler, catalytic converter, or fouled spark plugs on a 98 Buick.

Then again, 'cleaner air' will hopefully improve the gang-bangers aim during a drive by shooting and maybe fewer bystanders will get capped by accident, which would reduce "heath care costs". So yeah Lisa, fixing those problem will really make LaTisha's playground in the Projects a much more "safer" place to play.

Why doesn't Barry just get it over and issue an edict that the Eight Years of President Bush didn't exist -- erase him and his admin from the pages of history. Just like the Communists did in the USSR!

Dear Lisa,

I understand your concern about ground-level ozone levels. I believe I have the answer. What if we collect all of the ground level ozone and use it to patch the hole in the ozone layer up in the sky?

Not only would we get rid of the excess ground-level ozone but we would be recycling it as well.

No need to say thanks. Just send money.

Regards

OEMunk’
