Defending Against An Alinsky Campaign
RedState ^ | Sept. 20, 2009 | Achance

For those who haven’t read my bio, my background is in collective bargaining and employee relations. I cut my teeth on the union side as an understudy to an old-time liberal Democrat trade unionist. His mantra was, “Before they do anything, make sure they think about what you’ll do about it.” After a stint in the private sector, I went to work for the State government representing the employer in dealing with labor unions. That is actually very common in both public and private sector labor relations since the union side is the best place to get good, hands on training in labor relations practices

This should be worth reading. AChance is an Alaskan with a pretty good sense of what’s going on. I wish he were a little more supportive of Sarah but otherwise find him a source of wise commentary.

Addendum:

The following is a list of Alinsky’s rules for upheaval, (see article for entire list):

RULE 1: “Power is not only what you have, but what the enemy thinks you have.”

RULE 4: “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.”

RULE 5: “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.”

RULE 8: “Keep the pressure on. Never let up.”

RULE 12: “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.”

Of these, Rules 4, 5, 8, and 12 have been used to greatest effect by the Left.

“If your opponent [has a hot temper], seek to irritate him. If he is taking his ease, give him no rest. If his forces are united, separate them. Attack him where he is unprepared; appear where you are not expected.” (Book I, Verses 22-24)”

Barack Obama taught a class on using Alinsky principles to keep the nation in chaos. After all, it’s easier to get radical policies enacted during a crisis.

It would also be a good thing to find some true Lefty member with some personal vulnerability and hound him or her from office.

I nominate charlie rangel ... in memory of Adam Clayton Powell.

Wow, great article. Now and forever, for the sake of our Constitutional Republic, Alinksy back at em’! Everyone, at the grass roots level, Alinsky em’! They’ve been using these tactics on us since the 60’s and we’ve been Mr. Nice Guy. No more! We are at War with the closet communist and his minions. The sleeping giant is awake and it’s going to be an all out fight!

Pick the target.
Freeze it.
Personalize it.
Polarize it.

Rush.
Rush said “I want Obama to fail”.
To wish failure on Obama is to wish failure on America.
If you don’t disavow Rush you want America to fail.

Interesting on voter fraud in the Bush.

Kinda hard when everyone knows everyone else, and the population is both well known and tiny.

WIsh he would have added some details.

Godfather of organizing

The effort employs organizing tactics developed by the late Saul Alinsky - and in doing so, borrows a page from Hillary Clinton’s longtime hero who was the subject of her honors thesis at Wellesley College.

Alinsky is generally regarded as the godfather of community organizing who developed a new approach to politics, using tactics that allowed ordinary people - the poor and disenfranchised - to effectively fight City Hall in his native Chicago and to empower others with a cause, including Cesar Chavez’s successful organizing of farmworkers in California.

Obama himself traces his own organizing roots to Alinsky’s Industrial Areas Foundation, which trained him in Chicago, where he also spent years teaching workshops on the Alinsky method.

***i didn’t know hillary had done her thesis on ole saul?

We really won’t have to off many Members of Congress before they begin to distance themselves from Comrade Obama.

I think some are warbling as they see Bobble Head's numbers drop.

It also looks like the sycophant press may be realizing that he's not their friend - coupled with his rapid fall in popularity.

Rats do, after all, desert a sinking ship. I think they're lining up on the stern...

RULE 2: “Never go outside the expertise of your people.”

I find rule 2 to be one of the best ones to use against their propaganda on blogs and in arguments. Often you may have more expertise on a subject than the propagandist. Truthful knowledge blows them away. You can also do research to brush up on your knowledge of a subject and then let them have it!

The Alinsky scheme assumes that your activists are ignorant, childish, lazy, and lack-self control. You should read “Rules” just to look at what a committed communist organizer really thinks about poor people and Blacks.

But, I thought Obama really cared about poor people and Blacks.

RULE 5: “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.”

I remember in the 60’s that ‘put-down’ humor became the ‘vogue’. Prior to that most people adhered to a code of courtesy even if you disagreed.

RULE 5: “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.”

Jon Stewart's entire catalog of humor is sarcastic ridicule. He has been extremely useful to the left.
