As it turned out, FreedomWorks, the Washington-based conservative advocacy group that was the chief organizer of the rally's arrangements, corrected an earlier estimate of 1 million to 1.5 million that it attributed to ABC News and put the figure between 600,000 and 700,000. ABC News denied it had reported a crowd that large and said its reports put the size of the demonstration in the "tens of thousands" range.

Meanwhile, most of the SRM is still saying "tens of thousands" and Charles Johnson at LGF is saying 100,000 (no link, won't send traffic there, check it for yourself if you must). Now, ANYONE who has been to a major sporting event with, say, 100,000 people, knows that the crowd shown by the traffic cam (can someone post? thanks!) is FAR larger than 100,000.

Actually, I think it is good the MSM and the dems are underestimating this movement. Hopefully, they will find in the next election that the movement is real!
To: angkor
time to move on.Agreed. The fact the state run media won't put a better estimate on it says to me it was in the "Holy Cow! Look at them all" category for the state run media and Ubama.
That's good enough for me.

Let's not forget BOR's 70,000. ( No doubt to down play Beck's promotion of it. )

What? ...only 10 NFL stadiums worth of TEA Partiers?
Not bad, in my opinion, in a recession where people are watching every penny they have to spend.

The Monday after.. I heard Byron York, who was there... and, said he had reviewed arieal photgraphs to help with his estimates... say he believed there were somewhere between 70,000 and 100,000....
Still... a big enough crowd to make a little noise!
To: SomeCallMeTim
Not to mention tight arses like york and the other ( insiders ) hate the common folk as much as the rats . He and his ilk have done nothing except prattle on about the tone of these rabble...

agreed....the more the left and criminal liberal media tries to minimalize, ignore and dismiss us Tea Partiers, the more they are setting themselves up for defeat...
let’s just say, “there were two or three who showed up on April 15th and a couple of dozen in DC five months later” and let them wallow in their stupidity....

I’ve seen aerial photos that show a crowd of well over a million patriots, perhaps closer to 2 million.

The new Dallas Cowboys housed approximately 111,000 on Sunday. We were at least three times that.

"Debate rages over 'tea party' crowd"
"Debate rages over 'Holocaust' size"
Same type of people. Goebbels says "tens of thousands".
Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

There’s a thread on here somewhere about the DC metro reporting they had 400,000 more riders than the usual traffic for that weekend.
If every single person who came there came on a bus or train, that would still make the 9/12 crowd bigger than all but a few DC demonstrations. It would be bigger than the Million Mom March, the annual March for Life and even the 1963 March on Washington. And we know not everybody took the Metro.
