Heck, it’s the only manufacturing industry we got left...

In my area, it at least looks like reloading components are getting more available.

So what? I lost ALL my guns in that unfortunate boating accident a couple of years ago. I don't even really need any ammo any more.
Bummer!

Guns and boats don’t mix. That’s for sure. Same thing happened to me. What a shame...

Off course the constant target practicing I’ve been doing since November 2008 hasn’t helped but I am helping to keep people employed while keeping my aim on target...

I’d say the ammo stockpiles in the US keeps on getting larger and larger.
To: Kartographer
If we have no bullets why are the ammo shelves sparse to empty. I would say that we have plenty of ammo and we are still stocking up.

They need to learn the correct terminology. Bullets are useless without powder, brass, and primers. They really need to learn the difference between bullets and cartridges.
Which reminds me....

I’ve been to a couple of gun show over the last several months.
The reason there is no ammunition....it’s all stocked up in American patriots gun safes and closets.
These bozos report it like “all these guns are worthless heaps of steal.”
From what I witnessed, hundreds of thousands of rounds and weapons are being purchased....you know....just in case deer season gets extended.
Yeah, that’s it, deer season yeah yeah.

Last weekend at a gun show a bulk ammo seller told me that right after Obama took office the OSHA people swamped domestic ammo manufacturers with numerous nit-picking “safety inspections” in an easy-to-read effort to slow down and/or shut down production lines.
No way to know how valid that report is but there is still a scarcity of domestic manufactured ammo.
And that still doesn’t explain why the imported military surplus has almost disappeared. We know there is still plemty of South African, Greek and other surplus out there but the US Government is blocking importation. This is something that started in the Bush administration.
