I’m sorry, but I cannot agree with the sentiment that religious belief, even one as wrong as being a Muslim, should disqualify you from employment in law enforcement, the military, or DHS, or other jobs where you are expected to defend America.
It is too broad a brush in my opinion. I know that others strongly believe that no Muslim can be trusted at all; of course, I know people who believe the same about certain types of Christians, or Mormons, or Jews, or people of other faiths.
It is a downside to a pluralistic society that respects freedom of religion, that this means having to turn a somewhat blind eye to what we know to be belief in false religions, lest people who dislike our religions use our precedent to equally discriminate against us.
I believe you carry this a bit far. We can’t sit back and ignore what has happened in this world during the last few years. If we do, we are fools. It has been muslims that have caused distruction in the middle east. Now, all muslims aren’t bad, I agree. But enough of them have turned against the world that we must be watchful of all of them. Now they are developing Nuclear weapons. Do we wait until they use them? I don’t think so.
Alikhan is strongly anti-Israel; he has referred to the terrorist organization Hezbollah as a liberation movement. Hezbollah is on the U.S. official terrorist list while being an affiliate of the Muslim Public Affairs Council. Alikhan also opposed President George W. Bushs prosecution of the war on Islamic terror. In 2007, Alikhan was instrumental in removing the Muslim terror tracking plan in Los Angeles. The Muslim 'Mapping' Plan of the Los Angeles Police Department is now dead on arrival according to Chief William Bratton. It is over and not just put on the side, said Chief Bratton in a meeting with the Muslim leadership of Southern California at that time. The meeting was moderated by Arif Alikhan.
During his years in Los Angeles, Alikhan was responsible for derailing the Police Departments plan to monitor activities within the Los Angeles Muslim community, where numerous radical mosques and madrassas existed, and where some of the 9/11 hijackers had received support from local residents.
It's not that he is Muslim, it is that he has a history of undermining national security. And this is no broad brush, they are specifically discussing the actions of the individual(s) in question. Do you really want someone like that in a position of power in the DHS?
I agree with you Charles on principle- however- in this man’s case- please read his background and quotes- he thinks Hezbollah is a liberation movement and is anti-Israel.
There is a very good reason why farmers don't keep foxes in the chicken coop. They may not be Harvard graduates but they know that hoping the fox will be nice to the chickens and will protect them from other foxes won't make it so.
.
Islam is not a religion like the others. It is a totalitarian ideology with its own law, and thus is antithetical to our Bill of Rights and our Constitution. I’m surprised you haven’t realized this by now.
Keep your political correctness to yourself please.
To Hell with Islam.
Wake up America, Islam is not just a religion. It is an entire political, cultural and monetary system designed around their so called Religion. Islam and its various advocacy groups are trying to garner sympathy and support from Americans who do not fully understand this wolf hiding in sheeps clothing. Most Americans simply dismiss issues surrounding Islam thinking that Muslims are simply exercising their religious rights under the 1st Amendment. This is not true. Islam is abusing and perverting the rights afforded to religions under the 1st Amendment. It has to stop. article
You're kidding aren't you?
If not you are amongst the extremely naive knaves!
IT’S NOT THAT HE IS “JUST” A MUSLIM - DIDN’T YOU READ THE ARTICLE??????? HE CALLED HEZBOLLAH A LIBERATION ORGANIZATION AND DERAILED WATCHING MOSQUES ETC FOR TERRORISM! HE’S ON THE *OTHER* SIDE!!!
Which freaking side of terrorism are YOU on? Freaking high horse of non-prejudice. It’s not prejudice to not want a Muslim terrorist helper and enabler in the DHS.
It’s not that you don’t get it. You are either completely blind or like Muslim terrorists, there is no other explanation.
Islam is not a religion. It is a murderous cult. A murderous cult that has brazenly sworn to take over the United States from within using our own laws and democracy.
The problem is that islam is not just a religion, but also a political system—a foreign EMPIRE whose goal is the conquest of the entire world and its subjugation to sharia law. That most certainly includes America.
Every American should see this full-length film, and educate him- or herself:

Would you appoint a member of the Nazi party to homeland security job?
Sorry, your political correctness is so yesterday. Those days are gone. I don’t want to hear it.
When Muslims prove they can put their allegiance to the US ahead of their love of Jihad, I’ll trust them. When that happens. Not before.
The difference is Christians, Mormons, Jews or people of other faiths have never flown airplanes into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon or an empty field and killed thousands of people. They don't strap explosives to themselves and blow people of "other faiths" to smithereens, they don't cause Airplanes in Scotland to crash killing hundreds, they don't murder their wives and girlfriends and claim they did it for the "honor" of the family.
I could keep going but what is the point? The people who don't trust other religions really have no evidence to back up their mistrust, people who don't trust muslims have thousands of incidents they can point to over just the last 30 years to justify their mistrust.
DHS was started so we could keep an eye on muslims, whom we happen to be at war with, and make sure they don't kill off any more Americans.
Also, this isn't a job where an ad is placed and you apply for it. This is an appointed position that never should have gone to a muslim or Napolitano for that matter.
Now what do you think? Idiot. I tried to leave off the last sentence but couldn’t. Sorry.
