HCAN is the conglomeration of a huge number of hard left socialist organizations that are working night and day to destroy liberty and limited government in this country. They are in the stretch run of their effort to inflict government-run socialized "health care" on America.
Here is an example of the emails they're sending out this morning:

In his recent address to Congress, [Alleged] President Obama issued a clarion call for reforms that will guarantee all Americans good, affordable coverage and reaffirmed his support for the Health Care for America Now (HCAN) principles that are essential to achieving his goals - including a robust public health insurance option. This option must be available to all on day one - no trigger - to make reform affordable.
On Tuesday morning, the Senate Finance Committee will vote on including a public health option in its bill and whether to include it immediately or only if certain events "trigger" it. It's critical that these Senators hear from their supporters and constituents no later than Monday night! PLEASE CALL THE SENATE FINANCE COMMITTEE TODAY to support the public option and oppose the trigger. Contact information follows at the end of this message.
Yesterday, HCAN champion Senator Chuck Schumer said he was confident that the public option would prevail and be included in the bill that goes to the President. Both he and Senator Rockefeller have added crucial amendments that include a strong public option to create competition and bring down the cost of insurance, and both concurred that it is critical that we defeat the trigger amendment. The trigger is written as a "Catch 22" that insures the public option will never be implemented, but provides false reassurance by promising a cost effective solution.
At an HCAN event last month, President Bill Clinton and Senator Tom Dashcle told people that the best way to help is to:
From now until the President signs the bill, HCAN will leverage the power of our 30 million activists from Maine to California to make their voices heard in the halls of Congress. We will continue our grassroots campaign including activist events in Congressional districts, as well as massive call-ins and petitions that make it overwhelmingly clear to Congress that their constituents demand real reform. This fall, we add two new strategic programs to our plan:
REFRAMING THE NATIONAL NARRATIVE:
We will reframe the debate as "If the insurance companies win, we lose". HCAN is up on the air as of September 15, 2009 with ads targeting insurance companies as the enemies of reform.
ACTIVIST FLY-INS:
HCAN will stage 100 Hill days with coalitions of activists who we will select from across the nation to tell our story. We will bring in groups of doctors, nurses, small business owners, people with insurance who have been bankrupted, and those who had family members die due to an insurance company's refusal to pay for treatment. Cumulatively, they will tell a powerful story about the suffering going on every day in America due to companies who put profits before people.
MAJOR DONOR ADVOCACY:

The same kinds of activism on the conservative side will assure that this madness is brought to a screeching halt. The pubbies need to find their backbone. Conservatives everywhere need to be calling their elected officials in Washington (and at the state level) to demand a stop to this mad march to marxism.
