Rathke’s Reach: Critical ACORN Doc Found on Asian Website (link to insider docs)

If one wonders or doubts Wade Rathke’s reach around the world, consider the following document found on a community organizing website in Asia and published on ACORNcracked.com.

It has been well-documented that last year Rathke “left” ACORN U.S. to head over to ACORN International and export ACORN’s brand of organizing and tactics. He has since changed the group’s name to Community Organizations International.

ACORN Community Organizing Model is not the type of document ACORN would wish to have on the Internet. For ACORN, is tantamount to Eisenhower’s plan for D-Day being printed on the front page of the Washington Post. Not a good thing for the ultra-secretive group.

Consider this frank section of “SETTING UP THE ORGANIZING DRIVE:”

2. Contacts: The whole process of making contacts is built on a pyramid theory. Make one that leads to others. The purpose of contacts is to gather information and resources, and to build power. There are three types: hot, warm, cold. The hot contacts are people we have met before at some point in the organization’s history. Check the biographical file in the state office. Warm contacts are those we have not met but know something about in order to build an edge, i.e. we have an opener or a handle for the conversation – something they did, someone they know who we know, some reason to believe we can hit the core. The cold contacts are those people we must meet for some reason, yet we have no lead to them. The only edge there is simply an organizer’s skill in prying information and setting up his/her ego in order to loosen her/his tongue in person or on the phone. It’s a skill to be perfected, if you’re greasy, you are in the hole.

With all the “win” madness yesterday I had to stop myself posting something about Obama and “winnets”. That was worse.

The IRS has pinpointed tax-exempts and non-profits as the locus classicus for money laundering and tax evasion (stolen money is taxable). The biggest frauds are tax-exempts writing checks to another tax-exempt---the way these "altruistic do-gooders" siphon off, then launder, tax-free monies for themselves.

The Rathkes' activities offshore gives rise to concerns about massive govt fraud and money laundering. Since 1970, ACORN has grown to more than 400,000 member families, organized in 1,200 neighborhood chapters in 110 cities across the US and in cities in Canada, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Peru, Argentina and India. (JUSTICE DEPARTMENT COMPLAINT--BELOW)

ACORN also appears to have been involved in improper use of pension funds ..... some of the Rathke embezzlment was apparently taken from the fund using ACORN's American Express card. This displacement of funding led to the creation of a complex repayment system in which accused embezzler Dale Rathke owed ACORN, and ACORN in turn, owed ABA, which, for its part, wrote off part of the money. (Excerpt) Read more at spectator.org ...

ACORN receives funding from a variety of private charitable organizations: the Bauman Family Foundation, George Soros' Open Society Institute, the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation and from corporate foundations, including JP Morgan Chase Foundation, Ben & Jerry's foundation, Bank of America Charitable Foundation, and Citigroup, as well as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Ford Foundation, and foundations affiliated with the founder of United Parcel Service (UPS). (NPR: ACORN's Money Tree Has Many Branches, October 15, 2008).

A full list of ACORN and ACORN affiliate donors is available from the Capital Research Center, a non-profit organization which studies political advocacy groups. (Foundation Watch, 2008: Capital Research Center Cracks the ACORN)

REFERENCE----JUSTICE DEPARTMENT COMPLAINT
January 7, 2009
IN RE: ASSOCIATION OF COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS FOR REFORM NOW

EXCERPT The undersigned State Board delegates and National Board members of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (“ACORN”) file this criminal complaint against ACORN Staff and Executive Board members for fraud, embezzlement, conspiracy and concealment, and criminal civil rights violations. Additionally, since there has already been the public admission that a felony was committed, it is also possible that other federal offenses have also been committed including but not limited to;

Title 18 U.S.C. §1341, Mail Fraud;

18 U.S.C.§1001, Presenting a False Document to the an Agent of the United States Government;

18 U.S.C.§1027 False statements and concealment of facts in relation to documents required by the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 and other possible offenses including civil and/or criminal RICO violations;

18 U.S.C. §§1961-68 (RICO Act);

18 U.S.C. §1001 (False Statements to Agents of the U.S. Government);

18 U.S.C. §1341 (Mail Fraud),18 U.S.C. §1027 (ERISA Violations), and,

18 U.S.C. §241(Conspiracy Against Civil Rights).

Finally, the complainants contend that full investigations of a RICO conspiracy under 18 U.S.C. §1962(c) are warranted because they assert that (1) the defendant persons (2) were employed by or associated with an enterprise (3) that engaged in or affected interstate commerceand that (4) the defendant persons operated or managed the enterprise (5) through a pattern (6) of racketeering activity, and (7) the complaints were injured in its business or property by reason of the pattern of racketeering activity. Thus, the complainants feel that a formal RICO investigation is also warranted.

Great info - thanks.

Here’s a couple excerpts from the ACORN internal document that were interesting to say the least:

5. Race Get a feeling of the percentages, and where whites and people of color live. Given the predominance of race as a divisive issue in communities in most urban areas of the country in setting up a broad-based, long term organizational effort in the area, the first drives are going to have to be strongly multi-racial including whites. Find out what role race played in the political and social history of the area in the ‘60’s and ‘70’s, as a guide to these problems. Your better contacts will know and say. How you handle the racial stuff in the initial drives will largely be determined by this history. Only reach people of color first and exclusively, if your organizing plan indicates accepting the risk that ACORN may never have a white membership in the area. If the area is composed of a majority of people of color, then this will be your natural base, and the drives should move aggressively in these communities without concern for diversity. If all of this concerns you, call a liberal for advice on how to pretend 200 years of experience does not exist in America, but in the meantime take the glasses off and look at communities as an organizer making organizing plans to build ACORN.

J. Opening with Prayer: Opening the meeting with prayer produces order in the meeting, sets off uncertain expectations, and gives legitimacy to your purpose.

“...2. Contacts: The whole process of making contacts is built on a pyramid theory. Make one that leads to others. The purpose of contacts is to gather information and resources, and to build power...”

I was comparing the ACORN/SEIU scam to a Pyramid Scheme here:

“It’s almost sad that all the fools in their down lines (pyramid scheme type) are the suckers being used by those at the top.

They are useful idiots and that is all.”
