Rush Limbaugh is a meathead. But he also is a very wealthy man, and he's part of a group that wants to buy the St. Louis Rams. Does his bid deserve to be considered? Of course it does.
Don't get me wrong. I feel sorry for the people in St. Louis, who had to watch their Cardinals crash in the playoffs and now face the possibility that Limbaugh might become a part-owner of their football team. Will he attempt to rename the Rams the St. Louis Dittoheads? Will he dare play a black quarterback? Will he sell season tickets only to card-carrying conservative Republicans? These are uncertain times we're living in, folks. Anything is possible.
In all seriousness, news that Limbaugh wants to buy the Rams has disturbed a lot of people, including the Rev. Al Sharpton, who sent a letter to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on Monday requesting a meeting to ''discuss the myriad of reasons as to why [Limbaugh] should not be given an opportunity'' to buy the Rams. In the letter, Sharpton says Limbaugh has been ''divisive and anti-NFL on several occasions with comments about NFL players, including Michael Vick and Donovan McNabb, and his recent statements that the NFL was beginning to look like a fight between the Crips and the Bloods without the weapons.''
The Rev. Jesse Jackson attacked the bid as well, telling the Associated Press that NFL ownership is a privilege and that Limbaugh has made his wealth ''appealing to the fears of whites.'' NFL players association head DeMaurice Smith has publicly opposed the bid, and some African-American players have said they would never play for a team that Limbaugh owned.

Absolutely nothing that comes out of Limbaugh's mouth is defensible.
Yup, the MSM’s gotta put that obligatory comment about Rush in there...even in an article (kinda) defending him.
Another brick int the wall, MSM.
If he does get the team, wanna bet that he’ll be very much admired by all the players.
You see class, this is an example of good name-calling, because the target is a conservative.
Carol Sleestak again?
Sounds like she’s got issues.
F ! AL Sharpton! F ! Jesse Jackson! And F ! anyone else that is spreading lies against Rush! It is time for this crap to stop, or be stopped. Rush, I believe, is the one that can bring them to their knees.
Please do not post commie propaganda on FR.
Thats a Nancy pelosi mask
{I know that many people take him seriously, but no one should. He’s a charlatan who preys on stupid people. That’s unfortunate but irrelevant to this discussion. Limbaugh might be a joke, but there’s no NFL rule forbidding clowns from owning a team.}
Talk about elitist dribble.
The receipts for the NFL will decline somewhat this year. Next year the NFL is expected to lose money. Not a good investment, especially the Rams.
How about quoting Sharpton in defense of Michael Vick? This writer has got some real issues....
If Sharpton gets his meeting with Goodall, Goodall damn well better invite Rush there as well to directly respond to Sharpton.
What this is coming down to is that if you are a known Conservative you cannot own an NFL team. Screw the NFL.
Did You misspell Carol’s last name?
I could swear that it is spelled:
Carol Sleazesap!
Do they attack the man because they can't muster an argument against his position? Thought so.
Sun Times who?
What a bunch of cry babies... why don’t you fools go buy a baseball team.
Who’s this Slezak bitch, who doesn’t have a tiny fraction of Rush’s audience...and for good reason...and why should any of us give a damn what she thinks?
I’m fed up with pontificating, self-righteous, blowhard libs who haven’t the slightest clue what they are talking about.
