CINCINNATI -- The Transportation Security Administration was checking barges on the Ohio River Tuesday in what it dubbed "Operation Viper." TSA agents were boarding barges and checking in with captains to see if they've seen anything suspicious and to remind them to be vigilant. They are also checking the licenses of the barges and conducting safety inspections. The operation is being run under the Interstate 275 bridge near the borders of Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. The U.S. Coast Guard was also part of the operation.

Can we get the Coast Guard to take post on the Rio Grande river and issue citations to illegals crossing into the “Estados Unidos” without life preservers?
LOL
I will never forget the sight I saw leaving an airport years ago.
In the one person, security or parking attendant, boothe was a manatee sized young black woman with her feet parked up in front of her on the counter and eathing cheetoes outside the boothe was 3-4 young males with the overized sports jersey tops and bagge pants hanging out visiting with her.
I thought now if that is not a sure fire way to get canned from your job I dont know what is.
Conjures up images of TSA making ship captains take off their shoes and walk through scanners...
One more tiny
erosion of our civil rights.
Yawn. How much faith do I have in our intelligence community to catch terrorists BEFORE they act? Let me state it again. Yawn.
reminds me of that scene in the Bruce Willis movie when he foils a group of hijackers who are trying to take over a coal barge.
Could never quite figure out why they would want to hijack a coal barge.
It makes sense, though. Barges do carry some interesting stuff and could take out important bridges. THere was another story on WLWT about 13 barges busting loose and going down river a few nights ago. None of the bridges were damaged.
“Your papers, your papers are not in ORDER!
Now, follow me to the inspection room PLEASE!”
Mission creep and expanding budgets. I’ll be they already have a “Special Response Unit” or some other secret federal SWAT team already.
How long until TSA agents with German shepherds will be scanning us at toll plazas?
Not as bad as the infamous “Operation Desert Fox”.
Mission creep and expanding budgets brought us Waco.
